I woke up feeling sore all over and realized I had fallen asleep on the couch.
After stretching, I remembered I had to go to the office, attend university, and check on Grandpa.
Climbing up the stairs, my stomach growled with hunger.Thinking of grabbing something to eat outside, I was startled when I bumped into Adhrit.
Despite not wanting to see his grumpy face so early, I knew I had to apologize.I mumbled a quick "Sorry" without looking up, but when I did, I was taken aback by his well-built abs.
Why was he shirtless? As he rubbed his hair with a towel, I noticed a hint of embarrassment in his cheeks and ears. Was it because of me staring?
Feeling guilty for admiring his body, I started to apologize but stopped mid-sentence.
It wasn't right to ogle at him like that.He reassured me with a casual
"It's okay" before leaving.Blushing, I covered my face with my hands and giggled. Who would have thought that Mr. Grumpy could be such a pleasant sight in the morning?
As I descended the stairs and grabbed my car keys, I made my way to the main door.
Adhrit had already left, evident from the sound of the door opening and closing.
I decided to head to my university first, as I had missed several classes that needed to be made up.I reached the university and walked down the hallway, bumping into Vani, who was engrossed in her phone.
"Who are you texting?" I asked, causing her to jump and clutch her heart.
"Have I become so stealthy in my walking that people get scared when I approach?" I chuckled, patting myself on the back.
"I don't understand what you're talking about," Vani replied, as another message appeared on her screen.
She quickly pocketed her phone and looked at me.
"I should be the one interrogating you, not the other way around," she said.
"There's always that one friend in the group with a dirty mind, and that's you," I retorted, and she playfully huffed.
"As if you aren't!" she exclaimed. "Did something happen?" she asked, and I shook my head.
"Then it's boring," she sighed.
"You see, he's just my crush, and he has his own life. I shouldn't interfere," I explained.
"But, you do realize, you're living with Adhrit Ray Singhania," she pointed out, and I quickly covered her mouth with my hand to silence her.
"Your big mouth will get me into trouble," I warned.
"Were you talking about Adhrit Ray Singhania?" I froze and slowly turned around to face the person who had spoken, Lina.
"Really? I didn't notice that," I questioned.
"But I heard his name," Lina insisted.
"So, what were you talking about him?" she pressed on.
I shot a glare at Vani and vowed silently that after this conversation, I might just have to push her off a cliff.
"Oh, you know what? Vani mentioned that he's been single for quite some time now," I quickly chimed in with a forced chuckle, hoping she would buy my story.
"Why does it matter if he's single or not? I'm confident I'll capture his heart" she declared,
I breathed a sigh of relief that she believed my excuse was genuine.
"Do you think he'll go out with you?'' Vani asked, chuckling mischievously.
This woman is going to get me into trouble.
