"It's Sir!" She exclaimed, striding towards him. Why do you have to Miss Bhatt?!
I tagged along.

Adhrit glanced in our direction and signalled to the woman accompanying him. She left with a smile.

"Ah, Miss Bhatt, you worked late today," he acknowledged her hard work.

"Yes, sir. But I'm here to report on the recruit who has excelled on her first day. If she joins our company, she'll greatly improve the working environment," she praised me.

Adhrit looked down at me, and I quickly looked away. "Certainly, if you're recommending her, I'll look forward to meeting her," he said, smiling as he walked away.

"Then, I'll leave as well," she said, but then turned back. "You'll get home safely, right? It's so late," she asked, checking her watch.

It was twelve past ten.

"Yes, I'll manage," I replied with a smile.

She left, and I checked my phone for a cab, but there were none.
So, I walked up the street to find one since I had given my car for regular servicing.

I muttered curses under my breath, blaming that arrogant, wicked, and attractive monster for everything.

Just then, a fancy car pulled up in front of me, and to my surprise, it was Adhrit.

"Get in," he commanded, but I averted my gaze. "If you don't get in within two seconds, I'll drive off," he taunted.

I glanced around and realized that refusing to go with him would only bring trouble. Reluctantly, I opened the car door and sat inside as he drove away.

It felt strange to be in such proximity to someone who was usually distant and unapproachable during office hours.

Now, I could freely gaze at his face for as long as I wanted.

"Why do you always stare at me like that?" he questioned, causing me to retract my words.

His remark made it difficult for me to continue staring at him for hours on end

"Or do you stare at everyone like that?" he jeered, prompting me to turn my face towards the window.

"Can I ask you a question?" I inquired.

"If I say no, will you refrain from asking?" he retorted, causing me to sharply turn my face towards him and squint my eyes in response.

I inquired, "What's up with you?" as he tapped his fingers on the steering wheel and shrugged.

"Nothing," he replied, shrugging his shoulder

Annoyed, I leaned back in my seat and crossed my arms.

"Just ask me what you're thinking," he urged, glancing my way.

I straightened up and cleared my throat.

"Who was that woman we saw earlier?" I questioned.

"Mrs. Gupta? She's my manager," he answered, meeting my gaze.

"Not her, I meant the lady you were with the elevator," I clarified.

"Why do you want to know?" he probed, coming a bit closer to me

"Just curious, she was quite stunning," I remarked, observing his eyes, which seemed different from when I saw him at the office - mischievous.

"She doesn't seem to be an employee here," I pointed out.

"She does work here," he explained, glancing at me before shifting gears.

"She's the new model for our upcoming advertising campaign. That's why we were meeting to discuss the contract," he revealed.
