We pulled apart, gasping for air, both of us breathless.

The atmosphere crackled with the remnants of our shared passion.

Our hearts thumped in sync with the wild energy of the moment, and even as we craved oxygen, the urge to remain close burned within us like an insatiable flame.

It felt as though an unseen force was drawing us together, compelling us to close the distance that had briefly emerged.

He looked down at me, his eyes brimming with desire, a profound longing that seemed to vibrate in the space between us.

"I hope the jealousy has faded and you can see my true feelings," he murmured, his voice sending delightful shivers through me.

The honesty in his words made my heart race, and I noticed the mischief on his face.
I smiled, warmth flooding my being as I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer, eager to eliminate the gap that had lingered for too long.

The world around us blurred into insignificance, and in that instant, it was just the two of us, frozen in time.

"I wish the same for you," I responded, my voice steady yet brimming with a mischievous smile which I threw at him.

"Where could she be? How is it possible for her to just disappear like that?!"

Adhrit and I exchanged puzzled glances.

He moved to sit on the couch and helped me adjust my position as well.
I straightened my dress and leaned closer to the door, straining to hear the conversation taking place.
Adhrit stood protectively behind me.

"I'm through with all of you! You had one job to do, and you can't even manage that!" a man shouted angrily.

A chill ran down my spine; I recognized that voice.

"It's Alok," I murmured, glancing at Adhrit.

"Is it?" he replied, and I confirmed with a nod.

"Sir, we instructed her to relax in the lounge and enjoy some drinks as per your request, but I don't know where she went," a staff member explained nervously.

"Forget it; I'll handle her and deal with you all as well," he retorted.

What was he planning to do with them? And how was he issuing commands when he wasn't present?

Just how much control did he have over everyone here?

"It sounds like they're discussing you," Adhrit noted, and I turned to meet his gaze, nodding in agreement.

"We need to find her. Tonight is our only opportunity to abduct her. Sana Arora," Alok declared, causing a wave of dread to wash over us.

We heard footsteps retreating, confirming that Alok and his associates were leaving.

"Why would he attempt to kidnap me in a hotel filled with guests? Wouldn't the Joshis face scrutiny if one of their visitors went missing?" I questioned, while Adhrit appeared lost in thought.

Adhrit remarked, "It appears that Alok has offered the other parties something quite substantial, which could explain their support for him." I nodded in agreement.

"What do you think that could be?" I inquired.

He continued, "You know how these individuals will go to any lengths for money. It seems likely that whatever it is, it's something lucrative that could lead to significant deals. But I can't help but wonder, what exactly could it entail? Is it a person?" Adhrit pondered.
