Two weeks have now passed, and I haven't heard a single text or call from Adhrit.

Is he upset with me?

Staying at my grandpa's house wasn't my decision.
We've gone public with the wedding news, and invitations are already being sent out.

Yet, the only thing weighing on my mind was him; I sighed heavily.

I absentmindedly stirred my chocolate ice cream with my spoon.

"What's wrong, sister? Why aren't you eating? It's your favourite dessert, isn't it?" Tanya asked, pulling me out of my lost thoughts.

I glanced around the room, noticing my grandfather and Tanya's mother gazing at me with concern etched on their faces.

"Oh, I was just caught up in my thoughts," I replied, sitting up straighter.

"Is it about Adhrit?" Tanya's mother inquired, prompting a sigh and a nod from me.

"So, Mr. Handsome hasn't reached out since you arrived, right?" Tanya pressed, and I bit my lip, giving her a reluctant nod.

Even this young girl could see the issue, while my supposed fiancé seemed oblivious.

"He's probably just swamped with things to do; don't worry, he'll message you soon," my grandfather reassured me, and I nodded in response.

He has unwavering faith in Adhrit, and I knew better than to challenge that belief.
In truth, I often wondered if my grandfather had a clearer understanding of Adhrit than anyone else.

By the way, I should mention that Tanya and her mother are staying here, which is a relief—my grandfather won't feel so lonely, and Tanya will have the loving presence of a grandfather in her life. As for Tanya's mother, she deserves a bit of peace after Alok's arrest; she's been recovering rapidly.

I let out a sigh.

My phone vibrated, jolting me from my relaxed state as I lazily reached for it and placed the phone on my ears.

"Hello?"

"I'm standing outside your house, come out right away," came the urgent response.

Instantly, I sat up, wide-eyed, gripping the bowl I had been using for my ice cream while glancing at my phone.

"Adhrit?" I asked, confused.

"Who else would be calling you from my number?" he replied, cutting me off before I could respond.

"Hurry up, I'm waiting outside," he added, urgency dripping from his voice, prompting me to leap to my feet.

"What's going on? Did Mr. Charming get in touch?" Tanya inquired, and I quickly nodded.

"He said he's waiting outside. I need to go," I replied, making my way toward the door.

"Be careful," my Grandpa cautioned, and I shot him a questioning glance, but I didn't have time for a conversation—I dashed out of the mansion.

It was strange; he never reached out to me, and now, out of the blue, he was calling late at night, insisting I meet him immediately outside!

I dashed outside and swung open the gate, only to spot a figure clad in all black, complete with a matching helmet, standing next to a bike.

He seemed to be looking at me, though it was hard to tell with that helmet obscuring his face.

I quickly shifted my gaze to the right side of the lane, then to the left.

Where on earth is Adhrit? He had promised to wait for me outside.

Just as I was about to check my phone, I noticed the biker approaching me, and panic surged through me.
