At this moment, I find myself on an island, and you might assume I'm lost in a daydream or perhaps seeing things that aren't there.
But you'd be mistaken! I'm here to attend the wedding of the youngest son of the Joshi family, which is taking place right here.
I wouldn't have come if it weren't for the plan Adhrit shared with me. I arrived ahead of both Adhrit and Itish.
I must admit, I feel a bit out of place. Socializing with these folks is proving to be a challenge.
However, I've faced similar situations many times before, so I'll manage.
To make matters a bit easier, Mr. Bakshi is here with me, and he's supposed to stick around throughout my stay.
I can't shake off the feeling of dread about it. I glanced over at Mr. Bakshi, who was preoccupied with gathering our luggage.
There's something off about him; he keeps glancing around as if he's expecting someone to leap out and attack him.
"Are you ready to head inside?" I asked, and as I anticipated, he jumped at the sound of my voice, placing a hand over his heart to steady himself.
"Y-yes, we should go," he stammered, stepping inside first. There's something not quite right with him.
Before me stood an enormous hotel fully reserved by the Joshis. Who was I kidding?
They practically own every inch of this island! I couldn't help but shake my head at the thought.
Their wealth certainly commanded attention here. All the guests they invited would be staying, and the upcoming events would take place in nearby venues.
Upon entering the lobby, I was greeted by a receptionist whose smile lit up the room. She welcomed me warmly and handed over my room key with grace.
As I made my way to my room, I glanced at the card and noted that my room number was 379, while Mr. Bakshi was assigned room 654.
We stepped into the elevator together, and I exited on my floor.
As I walked down the hall searching for my room, memories flooded back from my first day in college, when I felt like a wandering soul in a massive building.
Finally, I reached my room, opened the door with excitement, and stepped inside. I dropped my luggage to the side and joyfully collapsed onto the bed.
I closed my eyes momentarily, then opened them to gaze at the ceiling above.
I found myself wondering, "When will Adhrit get here?" as I leaned back against the bed, taking in the lovely room around me, adorned in soft pastel cream hues.
My gaze drifted to a large window that beckoned me. Eagerly, I hopped off the bed and made my way over, only to be greeted by a breathtaking view.
The ocean stretched out before me, the sand glistened, and the sky was a perfect canvas.
It was a sight to behold, one that would linger in my memory!
If only the weight of my worries didn't hang over me, I could have savoured this moment more fully—or perhaps even ventured outside for a leisurely walk.
But alas, this isn't the right place for that.
I'm uncertain about who is aiding Alok in his endeavours; if it's the Joshi family, then I've unwittingly stepped into a precarious situation.
With a heavy sigh, I returned to the bed.
Despite the stunning scenery, I felt a sense of unease and tension from the company I was keeping.
