Control.

Blinking, searching, I look around after my wolf gives me full control.

I wasn't sure where I was. I left him to roam for a while, my sorrow too great for me to handle. But throughout today, he gave me glimmers of our surroundings. It was his way of letting me know he'd give me back my body soon, thinking that those glimmers would help me.

I wasn't sure it worked.

Checking my surroundings, I turned off my senses, and in turn, my gift.

I didn't want to feel today.

Shifting to my skin, I leisurely pulled on my clothes. I was somewhere cooler, the autumn weather biting at my skin.

I frowned. How far north had he taken me for it to be cold already?

As I shifted my hand through my bag, I grasped my mobile and realised it was turned off. I tried to power it up, but the battery was gone. Cursing, I shoved it into my pocket and stuck my nose in the air.

I'd have to find somewhere to charge it. Nova would call me soon, and I didn't want her to worry. Especially now she was pregnant again. Tuning carefully back into my senses, I forced myself to track my surroundings.

When I found nothing, I knew I'd have to follow the sun until I came near any type of civilisation's scent. I'd try to avoid the wolf lands, and judging by my wolf's path, he was in agreement.

But damn, it was getting cold. I had hoped to not have to buy a jacket yet, but I wasn't the best with lower temperatures and I think wherever I went, I'd have to give in.

The sun was setting by the time I reached a place where I could smell a human. It was a broad highway, and I hoped I didn't look too insane jogging down the side of it. I quickened my pace into a run, not wanting to be caught in the cold temperature of this damp night. The moisture settled into my lungs with every breath, and I debated staying in a hotel for the night. My body wasn't sore, thanks to my wolf, but a night in a bed would be nice.
