NOVA

Waking up after passing out was never fun.

I always felt more tired than was necessary, and before I could even open my eyes, I had the rippling cramp of nausea.

That's what woke me.

I scurried from the bed without gauging my surroundings, stumbling to the bathroom just in time. After emptying my stomach into the once clean toilet, I pressed my head against the closed lid. My eyes rang, head pounding as I brought myself back to earth.

Footsteps scuffled behind me, and in a sharp sense of alarm, I spun around. My heart pounded as my eyes struggled to focus, but then his scent enveloped me and I felt myself relax against the wall.

Phoenix crouched, grasping my knee in his hand. I blinked, clearing the mind fog as his face came into view.

Oh boy.

He had his concerned face on.

"Nova, my love." He murmured. "Are you feeling okay?"

I exhaled. "Sorry."

His eyebrows furrowed with confusion. "What for?"

"I... I don't know." I admitted with a soft laugh. "What time is it?"

"It's just after seven. The kids are still in bed."

"Still?"

"It's morning."

My eyes widened. I slept all night.

"Are they okay?"

"They're fine. I believe I asked you the same question." He cocked his head. "You passed out. Cold."

My chest constricted as my mind reeled. Every single piece of that vision came back to me, and I physically felt the weight in my chest drag me down.

"What did you see?"

Phoenix's voice was even, but there was no denying the harder tone to it. I exhaled, forcing myself to calm down before I ended up freaking out again.

"Pollux needs our help."

"What did you see?" He repeated.

"It... It doesn't matter right now, Pollux... He needs help. He's in danger."

"How do you know?" Phoenix pulled me to his chest.

Instantly, the calmness spread through the bond and settled my heart. It was enough for me to take a deep breath, and I focused my attention on the grip he had on my body instead of the spirally panic.

"He's trapped somewhere. I don't know exactly, but he's been there for a while." I explained. "I haven't been able to see him, or reach him, and I think his wolf..."

"You think he is drugged?"

"It is a possibility. I can't feel his wolf."

"Could he just be too far away?"

"No, even then I can feel his wolf." I shook my head. "This is darker. And... And I think Apollo is behind it."

Phoenix tensed, irritated. "Why?"

"My vision." I exhaled. "He was talking to Kasper."

Phoenix growled. "The wolf that has been breaking our border like a game."

I nodded. "They were arguing. I didn't catch the entire conversation, which makes me think it wasn't so long ago. But Kasper became enraged when he found out that Apollo planned on killing people."
