NOVA

It's been a while since I did 'luna stuff'. My nerves grew as we came closer to the cells. Phoenix pulled me close, reassuring me as we climbed down the stairs. The guards were instantly on alert, some of them following us.

I hated the smell down here.

I hated how dark it was.

I just hated this place in general.

How Sean managed this place all of these years... Ugh, he must be nose blind.

My brother was standing at the end of the hallway, blocking a door. He raised his eyebrow at me before looking at Phoenix.

"Why is my heavily pregnant sister in the cells?" He wondered.

With Charlie's absence, the roles and duties of each rank had changed. Whilst Sean took more of a beta role, it gave Leo more gamma roles. Therefore, including; prisoner management.

"We have a job to do." Phoenix stated.

Leo frowned, dropping his gaze to me. "It's dangerous down here."

"You think I don't know that?" I cocked my head. "They're in cells, and it's not like I am unprotected."

He pursed his lips, his brown eyes darting between us. Eventually, he nodded and opened the door for us to enter. He wouldn't be able to do anything, anyway.

The stench got worse as we continued down the hall, but I concentrated on the scent of Kelsey nearby. Turning a corner, I found her near the interrogation corner.

"She's ready for you." She nodded.

"Thank you, Kelsey." Phoenix returned the gesture.

She bowed her head before looking at me and smiling. "Nice to see you, Nova."

"You too." I murmured.

I stared at the interrogation room. The walls were all solid, and a shudder ran down y spine as I thought about all the torture that had come from in here. I could feel it seeping through the cracks in the walls, drifting under the gap of the door.

A lot has happened here.

Years and years of pain.

Phoenix's hand curled around the doorknob, his other palm pressing into a device on the wall. It turned green and clicked, giving him the chance to push the door open.

I inhaled sharply, wondering who lie behind the door. I'd finally have a face for the person we currently blamed for my twin's disappearance. Phoenix kept me behind him as the door clicked shut behind us, the comfort that Kelsey and two other guards were on the other side helped settle my nerves.

I raised my head at the sound of metal rattling, instantly locking onto the sound of-

"Harriet." Phoenix murmured. "Remember me?"

"Alpha, please, I-

"None of that." Phoenix shook his head. "We are here to ask some questions."

"We?" I heard her wonder.

Phoenix shifted his weight, moving to pull a chair out for me. It revealed me almost instantly, and my gaze collided with hers. Wide blue eyes, messy reddish-brown hair, with a soft olive complexion. Harriet seemed far from a villain, far from anybody we should be hurting.

She was of wolf blood, yet I could barely smell it.

There were way too many smells in here, anyway. I didn't want to breathe in the old tinge of pain.
