She barged into the house and quickly got upstairs to her room, closing the door behind her. She pushed her back against them and put a hand on her heart as it raced like crazy. She breathed heavily, a panic attack washing over her.

Tears started to fall out of her eyes as she realized what she had done. She cheated. She cheated on Joe.

She checked her phone seeing that Joe tried to call her a couple more times and also send her a text.

Joe:
Babe, we finished shooting tonight! I have a flight at 8 am, so I might be a little late, but I'll be there ❤️ love you and can't wait to see your beautiful faces!

She jumped in her bed and cried herself to sleep, not knowing what will happen next. She needed to focus on her mom and the surgery, but she knew she fucked up and she'll have to face the consequences of it the next day. And she was scared to death.

She couldn't sleep all night as she rolled from one side to another. She was worried sick about the surgery and now this as well... Million of thoughts were running through her mind and all she could do was cry and hope the next day won't turn into a fucking shit show.

She woke up early to help her mom get ready. She hired a babysitter for the girls, so they wouldn't have to sit and worry in the hospital. They didn't need to see that. Mark was supposed to be their ride, so Ann constantly kept looking at the front door praying that maybe he won't come.

„Good morning!" He shouted as he entered the house.

„Fuck." Ann whispered, closing her eyes as she was taking the milk out of the fridge.

„Hey, sweetheart." Sophie said giving him a kiss on the cheek. „Did you sleep well?"

Ann looked up at him, locking their eyes together. She immediately noticed that he didn't get any sleep either. His gaze was worried and distant. He quickly lost the eye contact and smiled at Sophie.

„Sure. You ready?"

„Almost." She sighed, putting the bag next to the door. „Did you eat yet? Ann is making herself some cereal, you could join her."

Ann looked at her mom with a death stare and Mark immediately noticed, which made him smile a little.

„No, thanks. I'm okay."

„Not even a coffee?"

„I'll get one in the hospital." He smiled warmly. „Don't bother."

„Okay." She shrugged.

„Uncle Mark!" Willa ran downstairs hearing his voice.

„Hey, princess!" He picked her up and spun around.

She was grinning from ear to ear as they fooled around together. Willa loved spending time with him and it never bothered Ann until... now.

"Hey, Ann." He said with a smile, trying to gain her attention.

"Hey." She said quietly, not taking her eyes off of her bowl.

"How are you?" He said as he stood against the kitchen counter.

"Fine." She said and quickly walked out of the kitchen to sit on the couch where her mom and daughters were. She was desperately trying to avoid a conversation about previous night.

To her luck he didn't continue the topic in front of them, so they sat in an awkward silence, waiting for the nanny to arrive. After a few minutes she finally came and Ann quickly explained to her everything she needed to know, even though it wasn't her first time. Leaving her kids was always a stressful situation for Ann, so nobody was really surprised.
