*Ann's POV*
I was sitting on the couch yapping away with Pri as I heard my phone vibrating.
"Booty call." Pri giggled.
"Pri..." I rolled my eyes with a smile, but it immediately dropped seeing that it was not Joe.
"Who is it?" She frowned, noticing the sudden change.
"Uh... It's my doctor." I said with an uncertain voice. "I did a full body scan lately, they were supposed to call me if anything was wrong."
"Well, answer it!" She gestured to the phone.
I quickly answered it and put it on speaker.
"Hello, Dr. Evans."
"Hello, Mrs. Jonas." He said with a sigh. "I'm sorry that I'm calling at this hour, but I just got your results and... well, I would like you to come see me, so we can discuss them."
I widened my eyes at Pri, my heart starting to beat faster. "Um... Yes, of course. When can I come in?"
"Whenever you're free, Mrs. Jonas."
"Is... now okay?"
"If you're available, I'm at my office."
"Okay, I'll... be there in a bit."
"Okay, I'll be here."
"Wait!" I stopped him before he hung up. "Is something wrong?"
He sighed. "This is not a conversation for a phone."
"Okay, I'm coming." I said, hanging up.
I kept looking at the screen, Pri sitting in a silence, not finding the right words to say in a moment like this. Hell, I didn't even know what to say.
"Will you come with me?" I just asked, fidgeting with the phone in my hand.
"Of course." She placed a hand on my leg, causing my eyes to water.
"They found a tumor. I'm sure of it." I whispered.
"Don't say that." She shook her head.
"Pri, I can feel that something is wrong with me." I sighed. "I can't explain it, but I know."
"Come on, let's go." She helped me stand up. I put on my shoes as Pri asked Nick to look after their girls for a while.
We drove to the hospital as I looked out of the window. I looked at all these people living their lives, enjoying the day, as I drove to get my death sentence. It could have been literally anything, but deep inside I just knew it was it. I suppose you somehow feel these things.
Pri walked inside the hospital with me and into my doctor's office. I knocked on the door lightly, before walking in, Pri following right behind.
"Oh, you're here." He stood up and greeted both of us with a handshake.
"I brought some support with me, if that's okay." I smiled, looking at Pri.
"Of course, yes." He said, sitting back down in his chair.
"So... Let's just cut to the chase." I sighed. "Is it cancer?"
"Look, Mrs. Jonas..." He sighed. "I studied it multiple times, looking for some kind of mistake, but... Unfortunately we did find cancer in your body."
"Okay." I nodded, knowing very well this was the reason I was there. "Just tell me how bad it is."
"That's the thing... You didn't get a check up for a long time and it seems that it had been in your body for a while now."
