"You got a dare for me?" He asked quietly, locking his eyes on her lips.
She followed his lead and also locked her eyes on his lips, staring at them for a while, before, thanks to the alcohol, saying what was on her mind.
"Kiss me."
A smirk painted on his lips as he shook his head lightly.
"As much as I would love that... You're drunk and I won't take advantage of that." He said, dropping his hand from Ann's cheek.
"I'm... sorry." Ann closed her eyes, immediately sobering up and realizing what she was doing.
"That's okay." He chuckled lightly. "Come on, let's go warm up."
He took her hand and helped her get out of the water. The cold air hit their wet bodies and Ann felt as if she could freeze to death. They ran to the house, laughing on the way.
"Towels!" Joe screamed, making everyone jump up from the couch.
"Oh my god, what happened?" Pri gasped as she saw them.
Joe and Ann looked at each other and bursted out of laughter. Danielle quickly ran to the bathroom and gave them each a towel to wrap themselves around.
"Go to the fireplace! Jesus..." Dani instructed.
"What the...?" Nick frowned as Ann and Joe sat in front of the fire, still laughing.
"You will never believe it!" Joe said. "There was this sea monster that dragged Ann to the water and tried to eat her, so I jumped in and saved her!"
"Exactly!" Ann nodded, following the story. "And it turns out it wanted to talk about my car's extended warranty."
"You guys are weird." Kevin shook his head as he watched them.
"See I told you they're not going to believe us!" Ann smacked Joe on the arm.
"Stay out of the water, Nick. He said you're next." Joe giggled. "Wait, we need to prepare the house for the morning!" He gasped, remembering it's Christmas Eve tomorrow.
"Willa already put out the cookies and milk, but we can do the Santa footsteps?" Ann smiled. "Nick what time are you gonna come?"
"I'll happily eat the cookies, but Santa Nick is not coming this year. I've had too much to drink." He raised his hands in defense motion.
"Oh come on!" Ann sighed.
"Don't traumatize your girls with drunk Santa." He chuckled, making everyone laugh.
"Okay, let's go." Joe quickly stood up, holding out a hand to help Ann get up.
She took it and they went to the kitchen for the flour and happily faked Santa's footsteps, even though there was no snow outside. Then they put out all the gifts for the girls and the family members that were prepared hidden under the stairs.
"I hope they believe in Santa for a long time. I love this." Joe giggled.
"Depends on which year they're gonna discover drunk Santa Nick."
"Okay, I think we're good." Joe clapped his hands, looking around with a proud look on his face. "Now let's get some sleep, cause it's gonna be an early morning."
"I agree." Ann sighed and they both said their goodbyes with everyone, before going upstairs. Joe walked her to her bedroom, that used to be theirs. She heard Josh soft snoring, meaning he was still fast asleep.
"Well, that's me." Ann chuckled.
"That's you." Joe smiled. "Thanks for today... I had so much fun."
"Same." Ann nodded, unable to hold her smile. "And sorry for... making it awkward."
