Chapter 2

Most of the guests left as Willa was asleep anyways. Her bedtime was at 7 and she would never miss that. She slept a lot, something she got from Ann.

Nick, Kevin, Priyanka, Danielle, Jinjoo and Jazz all stayed as they sat around a fire on the beach.

They all laughed as Kevin was telling a story about something that happened whilst on tour. But Ann wasn't even listening. Her eyes were focused on the fire as she was wrapped in a blanket and Joe's arm, while she reminisced on the past year.

„Where are you?" Joe whispered to her, immediately noticing that something's wrong.

She looked up at him as his face was lit up by the orange flames. He looked beautiful. She caressed his cheek as he smiled down at her.

„My handsome." She whispered with a smile, making him giggle.

„You look so much better with a smile." He whispered, wiping the smudged mascara from under her eye.

Ann looked away and buried herself in his chest, taking in the familiar smell of cologne.

„You know we need to talk." She said against his chest.

„I know. But please, not now. Let's enjoy the moment as it lasts." He rubbed her head as Ann nodded.

She closed her eyes and within seconds fell asleep.

„Hey." She heard a whisper in her ear.

She quickly snapped out, realizing she's lying on Joe's lap as she saw everyone stand up and go inside the house.

„Oh fuck." She rubbed her eyes, sitting up. „How did that happen?"

„Well, it was a tough day for you." He smiled, rubbing her back.

She looked at him and scoffed. „Yeah."

„Please let's not fight today."

„I can't pretend that everything's okay, Joe." She shook her head. „I..."

„Okay, we can talk today. But let's wait until everyone's out. Please. They've seen enough."

„Okay, you're right." She nodded and they stood up, joining everyone inside.

They all helped them clean up a bit before heading out. Kevin and Danielle were staying at Priyanka and Nick's house as it was bigger and could handle them and their two daughters. Jazz and Jinjoo on the other hand were staying at Ann and Joe's house. They all planned on staying for the whole two weeks break, so they were all excited to spend some time together.

„To Willa." Jazz laughed as she clinked her wine glass with Jinjoo. They were both visibly drunk and in a good mood. Ann laughed as she passed them.

„Mama, come join us!" Jazz grabbed Ann's hand and spun her around.

„Jesus!" She laughed as she almost fell down from the dizziness. „I'm old now, remember? I forgot how to party."

Jinjoo hugged her. „That's not true."

„I'll show you that's not true." Jazz smirked. „Alexa, play Cake by the Ocean!"

„Jazz..." Ann laughed.

„Show me them moves that made Joe Jonas drool."

They all laughed and danced around the room, jumping around and singing. Willa was used to loud noises so she knew she wouldn't wake up anyway. And she needed that. She didn't realize how much.

She grinned from ear to ear as the three of them walked through the room and twerked on the ‚walk for me baby' verse.

The song ended and Ann hugged both of her friends. „Thank you. I needed that."
