Chapter 2 Home Part 2/3

*3d person/no ones pov*

*time skip to dinner*

“Mm, oh. I love it when it’s Zanes' turn to cook.” Jay said, stuffing his face.

“Hey, I didn’t hear any complaints about my duck chowder last night.” Cole said.

“That’s because it glued our mouths shut.” Kai said, turning to face Cole.

“You thought Jay was speechless all night?” Y/n asked.

“Yeah, please don’t make that again.” Jay asked, crossing his arms.

“Dinner is served.” Zane said, putting an entire turkey on the table, everyone looked at the pink apron he was wearing, and gave him funny looks, before bursting out in laughter.

“What are you, wairing?” Jay asked through laughs.

“What’s so funny?”Zane asked, genuinely confused.

“Zane, you're wearing a…” Nya started. “Well, even I would wear that.” she explained.

“You laugh because I take extra steps to ensure I’m clean after cooking?” Zane asked, walking over to stand at the head of the table.

“Ha ha! No, we laugh, because you came out wearing that ridiculous outfit.” Kai explained, as he laughed.

“I guess we don’t share the same sense of humour.” Zane guessed.

“Well, how about this?” Cole said, taking a plate full of shrimp, and shoved it in Kai's face, which made everyone laugh, except Zane. “How could you not find that funny?” Cole asked, as Sensei Wu and Y/n dumped the pot of sticky chilli on his head, which led to Wu, Y/n and Kai laughing.

“Now you are brothers.” Sensei Wu said, as the ninja started a food fight.

*time skip, to the next morning, in the woods*

The ninja were running in the woods, because Zane said he had found something last night.

When Zane came to  an abrupt stop.

“I don’t even think Zane knows where he’s going.” Kai started. “Tell us again how you stumbled upon Lloyds secret headquarters?” Kai asked.

“I followed a bird.” Zane said, so straightforward.

“Why did you follow a bird?” Y/n asked.

“Because it danced.” Zane answered.

“Oh, ok. Was it a cuckoo bird?” Jay said, in his cocky voice, making them all laugh.

“Of course not. Everyone knows cuckoo birds are not indigenous to these forests.” Zane explained, completely honest, before running off again.

“Watch it!” what seemed to be Lloyd yelling, from inside a giant tree house. “No, bigger! Come on, we don’t have all day! It’s not time for a lunch break!”

“Holy cannoli, Frosty was right.” Cole said.

“‘Holy cannoli?’” Y/n asked, mocking her friend, in a way.

“We can’t let that brat, and those snakes get a foothold in Ninjago.” Kai explained, “we got to destroy that thing, before it becomes operational.”

“Whoa, are you sure?” Jay started. “It looks like a pretty cool tree house. There’s a ropes course. Oh, and a tree swing…” He said, but was interrupted but Y/n smacking him on the back of the head.

“Hey. remember who’s team you're on.” Y/n said.

“Alright guys, what do we do?” Cole asked.

“It looks like the entire place is being supported by those three trees.” Kai said, pointing to three ropes attached to three big trees. “Once those ties are severed, the whole thing will fall, like a house of cards.” 

“But why would someone make a house of cards?” Zane asked, “such construction would be careless.” 

“Oh brother.” Kai said under his breath.

“Travel in shadows guys.” Cole said, before sprinting off.

Cole and Y/n hid under one of the Serpentin’s elevators. While everyone else found their own ways up.

Once they all got to the top, they looked through some of the holes in the roof, to find Lloyd walking around.

He said something under his breath, but they couldn’t hear what, when he yelled at a Serpentine. “You!”

“Huh?” the Serpentine asked.

“Hold up that sign for me.” Lloyd demanded. So the snake grabbed the sign, which said, ‘no girls or ninja’ on it.

“Well that’s a little hurtful.” Y/n whispered, so only the ninja could just barely hear it.

Lloyd then grabbed a lever, and pulled it. The floor opened up under the Serpentine, and the ninja watched as he fell several floors, till he hit the ground, and somehow got up. “Booby Trap!” Lloyd yelled.

The ninja quickly ran to their corners. “Ninja Go!” Jay yelled, as he spun into spinjitzu, to cut the rope. The whole tree house shifted to the one side, and many Serpentine fell out.

“Ninja Go!” Zane yelled, doing the same as Jay.

“I Said No Ninja! Attack!” Y/n heard Lloyd yell, but none of the Serpentine attacked them, as most of the snakes fell out of the tree house. 

“Cole, wait till we’re off the tree house,” Kai called to Cole. “Then cut the line.” Cole nodded in agreement.

After Jay, Zane, and Y/n got on to the tree house, Jay looked around, seeming confused.

“Where’s Cole?” Jay asked.

“This whole place is coming down.” Kai said, as the tree house shook.

Then Cole jumped down to join them. “No one goes anywhere, till they deal with 

me.” he said, he was obviously under one of the snake mind control.

“Cole?” Y/n asked, as he walked closer to the ninja.

“What’s gotten into him?” Kai asked.

“He’s under their control.” Zane explained.
