Chapter 5 Can of Worms Part 3/5

Sensei Wu was steering the Bounty, while you and LLoyd looked for the ninja.

“Do you see them?” Lloyd asked you, walking up to you.

“Not yet.” You said, “But I have a good feel-There! Turn On The Light!” You yelled up to Sensei Wu.

Later that night, after the ninja woke up. You all were sitting at the dinner table.

“...So then, just when we were gonna bite it, this huge mechanical robot-” Jay said, but was cut off by Zane.

“Samurai. It was a samurai.” Zane explained.

“A sama what?” Lloyd asked.

“Samurai. Highest level of warrior class.” Sensei Wu explained. “They would protect nobility and serve with honour on the battlefield.”

“He was a hundred feet high.” Kai said, still under the Venomari spit. “With weapons coming out every part of him.” he let out a short gasp, before pointing to Sensei Wu. “Look at Sensei’s beard.”

Kai was definitely seeing something that you couldn’t. He then whispered something to Cole that you couldn’t hear.

“When is this Venomari spit supposed to wear off?” Nay asked, and you shrugged. 

“If it’s anything like the Anacondrai stuff, then a couple of hours.” you explained, “But I really doubt that.”

“Ok. because it’s starting to get annoying.” Nya said, looking over to Kai, who had put a piece of shrimp on his face.

“Okay, don’t let this mysterious samurai cloud what’s really important.” Cole said. “All the Serpentine are out, and if Pythor can unite them, the legend states some Great Devourer is gonna consume the land and-” Cole explained, but was cut off by Nya.

“Great Devourer?” She asked.

“Whatever it is, it’s a can of worms I don’t want to see open.” Cole said, making you get the shivers, at the thought or the Devourer.

“Uh. It’s all my fault.” Lloyd said, burying his face in his hands. “If I hadn’t opened the first hatch, none of this would have happened.” 

“Hey. you might see it that way. But if you hadn't, then you wouldn’t be here with us.” You said trying to comfort the boy.

“We cannot change the past, but we can affect the future.” Sensei Wu said. At least we still have the Sacred Flute in our possession, so-” he started but was cut off by Jay, playing with his cup.

“Yeah, ahem. About that…” Jay said, tipping over the cup.

“Pythor sort of stole it.” Zane said, rubbing the back of his neck.

“The last Sacred Flute, gone?” Sensei Wu asked, half yelling. “You ninja are Ninjago’s last help.”

You were about to take a sip of water, when an alarm started to blair.

“Cold vision must have caught something.” Nya explained, “that means the Serpentine are near.”

“Oh, no! Ninjago City!?” Coel said, getting up and running to the Bridge, you and the other Ninja following close behind.

“How many are there?” Jay asked, one you all got to the Bridge.

“Looks like all of them.” You said, looking at the hologram of the city.

“Pythor must be trying to unite them.” Zane explained.

“Go! We mustn’t let the five tribes unite.” Sensei Wu explained.

You and the other ninja ran out of the bridge, to the cloakroom, to get into your ninja gi’s.

“Ninja Go!” You all yelled, spinning into spinjitzu, getting into the gi’s.

“I must get this taken care of.” Zane said, impling getting the pink out of his gi. 

Kai was still going crazy with the Venomari spit, and landed on the floor, still in his pyjamas. 

“Don’t worry. It’ll wear off soon.” Jay said, looking down at Kai. “For now, you're coming with me.” He said, helping Kai off the floor.

“How are we going to get to the city anyway?” you asked.

“You’ll see, and I think you should stay close to me.” Cole said.

“Ok.” you said, you could feel your face light up red under you mask, as you smiled.
