Chapter 3 Snakebit Part 3/4

*time skip to on the road*

Sensei Wu played a song on his flute as you all walked in silence.

You looked over at Cole, who was watching Rocky, and the other dragons fly east.

“Of all the days to lose our ride…” Jay said.

“That flute, you’ve never told us why it’s so special.” Zane said, walking up to Sensei Wu.

“Long ago there were many flutes,” Sensei Wu explained. “Created to combat the powers of the Serpentine and drive them underground. But over time, Ninjago’s forgotten its ancestors’ wisdom, and now this is the only one.” he said, turning to Jay, and continuing to play the flute, in his ear.

“I get the lesson, respect your elders or else suffer the consequences.” Jay started, “boy, you guys are laying it on thick.” Jay said, making Sensei Wu chuckle.

“Perhaps you are only hearing what you need to hear.” Sensei Wu said. 

Jay looked around, as he stopped in front of his parents' junkyard.

“What is it?” Nya asked, walking up to him.

“It’s quiet.” Kay explained, “My family is never quiet.” he said, pulling his mask up, and running into the junkyard, as did the rest of the ninja.

You stopped, and looked around, listening to see if you could hear anything. 

There was nothing, when you heard something coming from a giant fridge. You pointed to it, and Jay ran up to it, kicking it open. Reviling Ed and Edna chained up, and tape over their mouths.

“What happened? Who did this?” Jay asked, pulling the tape off his Mom.

“Ss-sweetheart, you came.” Edna said, with a big smile, showing everyone fangs that weren’t there the day before. Jay quickly pulled the tape from his Dads face, so he could talk.

“You gotta get out of here.” His Dad explained, “you shouldn’t have come. It’s the ss-snakes.”

“The bite of the Fangpyre.” Sensei Wu explained. “Once they sink their teeth, their venom can turn anything into a serpent. It’s only a matter of time before the full transformation is complete.”

Jay’s parents turned around, revealing they were growing tails. But were quickly interrupted by the sound of snakes hissing.

What looked like an army of snakes, came out from behind one of the junk piles. There weren’t that many Serpentine, but there was a giant crane with a wrecking ball, with a creepy face, plastered to it.

“Uh, is that wrecking ball staring at me?” Coel asked, standing in a fighting position, with the Scythe of Quakes. But was quickly interrupted by the wrecking ball, swinging at them, almost hitting them.

“Duck!” Jay yelled, throwing himself at his parents, shoving them out of the path of the wrecking ball.

“Thanks, ss-son.” his Dad said. 

“Lloyd!” Sensei Wu yelled, from in front of the ninja.

“Hello, uncle.” Lloyd started, from atop a pile of tyres. “Looks like we’re not the only family reunion. I’m glad you brought the ninja. I could use some help taking out the trash.” Lloyd said, before doing his evil laugh.
