Rise of the Serpentine (Cole x Reader)

All of Nothing Chapter 13

(Tw, at one point it gets a bit cringy, I even cringed myself out while writing and planning, but I'm leaving it in there because it's kind of important.)

The ninja had just gotten back from tracking down, and interrogating a Serpentine that you had been tracking, walking around Ninjago City for quite a while.

"The Venomari's right." Nya said, looking at the big screen that showed a map with a line. "By the time we cast clear across to the other side of Ninjago, Pythor will have already beat us to the last Fangblade."

"Aw, come on guys."Jay complained, "This is the last one. We gotta get it. We gotta think of something."

You all stood there thinking for a second before Lloyd spoke up.

"Hey. All we have to do is to get just one Fangblade to stop him." Lloyd started, "What if we take back the other three?" He asked. "Pythor wouldn't risk having them all on him. He's probably hiding them somewhere, while he goes for the fourth."

"It's so simple." Cole stated.

"Why didn't I think of that?" Kai asked.

"It can't be that easy." Jay said.

"Why not?" You asked.

"Because." Zane started, looking over at you. "If my algorithms are right. Which they are. Taking the other three is far more dangerous. Pythor would undoubtedly have them protected by his top Generals."

"Ha, finally, I don't have to hold back." Kai exclaimed.

"Even if you could steal the other three," Garmadon started, "you don't even know where they are."

"He's right." Sensei Wu said, "For the past few weeks there had been almost no Serpentine sightings."

Cole looked over at you, a worried expression on his face.

You grabbed his hand in a comforting manner.

"How are they moving around?" Jay asked.

"It's like they're ghosts." Sensei Wu said, furrowing his brow.

You looked over at Nya for a split second. It was like you were thinking the same thing.

"Or snakes!" You and Nya said in unison.

Cole and Jay gave the two of you the same confused look.

"Bridge, give me a sonar sweep of Ninjago." Nya asked, as you let go of Cole's hand, and walked over to your computer.

The bridge did a quick sonar sweep of Ninjago, while you quickly did one on your computer.

The bridge finished its sweep, just as your computer finished it's.

"See? Nothing. It's just like Sensei said." Kai said, doubt sounding in his every word.

"THey're snakes, right?" You asked, looking up from your computer. "Snakes burrow."

"What does that mean?" Lloyd asked.

"Well, you see. When the bridge did a sweep above ground nothing came up." You stated, before casting your computer screen to the large bridge one. "But if I sweep 60 feet under Ninjago-" You said as the map now showed many lines all connected to one large underground area.

"All the Tombs are connected." Kai exclaimed, eyes wide.

"To make one massive underground fortress." Cole said, pointing to the large aria.

"And all this time, right under our noses." Jay said, a bit of sarcasm was in his voice, but you didn't think he intended it to.

"Or rather, feet." Zane jokes.
