The Snake King Ch 6 Part 1/9

*Scales pov*

We had been digging for days, and still nothing. We had used almost all our recorcess, and time.

But Pythor had insisted that we keep digging for I can't even remember what at this point.

I slithered up the ramp, dumped the bucket of sand in a pile, and started my way back down into the pit for what seemed like the millionth time.

"We're wasting our time, Pythor." I said, trying to convince him there was no lost city at all. "There's nothing here but sand and dust."

"Keep Digging!" he yelled, digging more aggressively than needed. "The Lost City of Ouroboros is under us. I know it."

"Oh, face it, your first attempt to unite the tribes failed," I said, getting to the bottom of the ramp, and grabbed a shovel. "And now that you have lost your flock, you've become desperate." I slithered over to the overgrown snake.

"I am desperate," Pythor said, as if it were an achievement. "My disloyal number two." He insulted me. Although, it was true. "But only to bring our kind together so that we can unleash the Great Devourer."

"You put too much faith in legends." I told him, "besides, all the Serpentine know is to be at war with one another." I explained.

Pythor just shoved his shovel into the sand, aggressively, when it hit something. He moved the sand out of the way, with his shovel, revealing a stone switch inside a circle.

Pythor started to laugh, "Scales, I believe we've found it." he bent down, and turned the switch.

All the sand around us, started to disappear, leaving only a huge city.

"I present to you, the city formerly known as the Lost City of Ouroboros." Pythor welcomed.

This chapter will be filled with a lot of short parts, and few longer ones.

Sorry I missed Saturday, I was camping for Labor Day Weekend. And I have a good feeling updating will be slower because I'm starting school again tomorrow.

Oh and please tell me, would you rather, one long chapter, or many shorter parts of one chapter???
