Sitting outside in the shade, propped under a tree, Lily rested with a crumbled-up blanket under her sprained ankle. When Daryl brought her back, Hershel checked her out and confirmed it was nothing more than a sprain. He assured her it would heal in a few days if she took it easy. Maggie had given her some old gossip magazines to pass the time, and Sutton insisted on sitting with her, eagerly reading aloud from the worn pages.

The crunch of leaves under heavy footsteps drew their attention, and they looked up to see Daryl approaching. "How's the ankle?" he asked, his voice a mix of concern and curiosity.

"It's okay. A little swollen, but Hershel said keeping it elevated will help. I should be able to walk on it in a day or two," Lily replied, trying to sound optimistic despite the discomfort.

"I'm making sure she doesn't get bored," Sutton chimed in, proudly displaying the magazine in her hands.

"Yeah, apparently Sandra Bullock and Jesse James are headed for divorce," Lily said, trying to keep a straight face.

"He was cheating on her," Sutton added, her young voice filled with the seriousness of a news anchor.

"We're devastated," Lily said, not having the heart to tell Sutton that the magazines were so old the pair had divorced long before the world ended.

Daryl just nodded, not really caring and not really knowing who either of those people were. "I'm headed out to look for Sophia again. Gonna take a horse, head up to the ridge, get a bird's eye view."

"You're going alone?" Lily asked, her concern evident.

Daryl nodded. "Shane and Rick are taking Andrea and Jimmy out to another part of the grid."

"Jimmy?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Beth's boyfriend," Sutton spoke up quickly, eager to contribute.

"Beth?"

"Maggie's sister. She's blonde. Only a few years older than me," Sutton explained.

"Right. How do you remember all these names?" Lily asked, genuinely impressed.

"My memory's better because I'm not old like you," Sutton replied innocently.

Lily scoffed. "Oh. Of course," she said before looking back at Daryl. "I wish I could help. We were so close to finding her yesterday."

"I'll find her today. From where I'll be, I can see a whole lot," he said, his tone confident.

"Can I come? I can help Daryl look so he won't be alone," Sutton offered eagerly. Lily was about to say no when Daryl beat her to it.

"You should stay here. Look after your mom. If something happens, she'll need your help to get out of here," he told her firmly.

"My ankle is sprained. I'm not crippled," Lily mumbled, though she appreciated his concern.
