"Patricia, kill the lights," Hershel whispered urgently, his voice barely audible over the distant moans of the approaching walkers. The eerie glow of the moonlight made the scene even more menacing.
"I'll get the guns," Andrea replied, her tone steady but tense as she turned to grab the bag of firearms.
Lily's gaze was fixed on the herd moving towards them, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and determination. The herd was larger and more coordinated than any she had seen before, a solid mass of rotting flesh moving with unnerving purpose.
"Maybe they're just passing by, like the herd on the highway. Should we just go inside?" Glenn suggested, his eyes darting nervously as he looked between the others.
"Not unless there's a tunnel downstairs I don't know about. A herd that size would tear this place apart," Daryl said, his voice grim and resigned. His eyes were focused on the approaching walkers, calculating their numbers and the inevitable destruction they would bring.
"Carl's gone!" Lori exclaimed, her voice breaking as she raced outside, her face a mask of panic. "He... he was upstairs. I can't find him anymore."
"Maybe he's hiding," Glenn suggested, trying to offer a sliver of hope, but Lori shook her head frantically.
"He's supposed to be upstairs. I'm not leaving without my boy," she insisted, her determination as fierce as her worry.
"We're not," Carol said, trying to comfort Lori as they all headed back inside the house, their hearts heavy with the urgency of the situation.
Lily looked down at her daughter Sutton, who was clutching her small knife tightly. Andrea arrived with the bag of guns, her face set with resolve. "I need you to stay by my side no matter what, okay? You have your knife?" Lily asked, her voice firm yet gentle.
Sutton nodded, her young face pale but determined. "Okay," she replied.
Lily handed Sutton a small revolver from the bag, her hands shaking slightly as she did. "I know you know how to use this now. Take it."
Sutton took the gun with a nod, her small fingers gripping it tightly. Lily then picked up a gun for herself, her resolve hardening.
"I got the numbers, it's no use," Daryl said, his voice tight with frustration. He knew they were facing an insurmountable challenge.
"You can go if you want," Hershel said, his tone resolute as he loaded his gun with practiced efficiency. He was prepared to defend his farm to the end.
"You gonna take 'em all on?" Daryl asked, his eyes narrowing at Hershel's unwavering stance.
"We have guns. We have cars," Hershel said firmly, his voice leaving no room for doubt.
"Kill as many as we can," Andrea said, her voice steady despite the chaos. "And we'll use the cars to lead the rest of them off the farm."
"Are you sure that's a good idea? If we leave now, we can get away," Lily said, her voice laced with concern.
