Hemophobia(Pt.7)

“Rainy Leadership”

The sound of rain hitting the leaves and ground were nearly deafening, water pouring down from the sky as if the clouds were crying, puddles overflowing, the dirt enjoying the hydration before it got too much for them, causing it to turn into mud, making the crystal clear puddles murky.

Despite over 200 combatants being in this forest, barely anyone was seen besides a small group of 6 unnamed teenagers who were hastily running away, panting heavily as if whatever chasing them was out for blood.

“Run quicker! I can feel it approaching us!”

Shouted a boy from the group who was running ahead of everyone else by alot, showing he was either the most skilled out of the six, or the most terrified..

“Shut up! We're going as quick as we can!”

Replied a girl who was a few feet behind the boy from before with everyone else in the group being condensed behind her. The rest of the group was confused which only heightened their fear. What were they running for? What was chasing them? Why were they so ahead of us? All of those questions rang in their head until..it suddenly stopped.

All that was heard was a wet thud against the mud followed by 4 more accompanying it, hitting the ground with a loud “splat”, causing the two teenagers in the front to turn around. Both their hands clenched in fear, their hearts thumping violently against their chest as if it was going to jump out and leave. The boy looked over at the girl who was standing still in shock, she didn't even see what took their group out. It was too quick.. With that speed, they could've taken those 4 out without making a noise…so..why did they..-

“Jeez…what a drag..you guys are no fun.”

Said a sadistic, playful voice from behind them. What he said sent a shiver down the other two's spine, immediately activating their fight or flight response. However, before they could enact either reaction they felt a hand on both of their shoulders which caused their eyes to widen in surprise, their mouths agape.

“There's…really no point in running. I'm quicker than both of you. One twitch and I'll end both of you. Right here, right now.”

They continued, his voice ringing in the teenager's ears. A cold sweat rolled down the boy's head as he heard those words, fighting the shake in his legs as hard as he could, knowing one movement could get him killed.

The figure's nails dug deeply into their shoulder blades, causing them to wince in discomfort to it's delight, letting out a soft chuckle at their despair. It's clear they're enjoying this a bit too much. After a few seconds of silence, It began to speak once more, its voice taking on a more comforting tone as it busted out into laughter

“Pfffttt, HAHAHA. Oh my god! You guys really bought that bit!? You're so gullible!!”

It laughed out, his hand slipping off of both their shoulders, leaving nail marks in its wake. The boy and girl flinched at his laugh, their eyes still wide in terror. That aura… this…this thing could've killed them like they did the rest of their group-

“Don't worry about your friends, they're alright. I just tapped their pressure points. They'll be up in an hour.. or a day.. Speaking of days..how long has it been? In this forest? 2…3 days or something? God. I'm really bad at time..”
