“What Am I?”

“Your name is…Eclipse?”

Eclipse asked with blank expression that quickly turned into shock as the realization finally hit him like a sledgehammer. He subconsciously took a step back with the woman saw immediately, her eyes snapping to his left foot. Eclipse didn't know why but he felt a shiver scurry up his spine before plummeting back down when he noticed what she was looking at. Without thinking, He turned his body as quick as he could and tried to run away. He didn't know why he was scared, why her gaze was so uneasy to him. But he didn't have time to think since she was already in front of him.

“Where are you going, starlight?”

She asked, her motherly tone sounding sinister, freezing Eclipse in his steps. He gulped before attempting to open his mouth to speak back.

“You're giving me really..weird feelings-. I don't think I should be talking to y-”

The woman immediately leaned in, stopping Eclipse from finishing his sentence out of pure fear and terror alone. Her gaze felt like razorblades against his skin despite the friendly smile she had on her face. He began to hyperventilate.

This was all too much for him. What was happening? Why?! Thinking about it more and more only brought up more questions. Why does she stand out on this pitch black void? Why are her irises shaped like crescent moons? He thought to himself, his mind racing with questions that couldn't be answered.

He took another step back, trying to widen the gap between the two of them. Why is she so calm in a place like this!? Why does she have my na-

“AH!-”

Eclipse fell backwards, his foot slipping on the sludge beneath him. However he prepared for an impact that never came as he was quickly grabbed and picked up by the woman, leaving him dangling by his feet which he kicked in panic. This situation was terrifying for Eclipse, he felt like he could barely breathe…so why did she seem to find this amusing?

“You're a clumsy little thing, aren't you? Very clumsy indeed..”

She ended up tossing Eclipse into the air and casually turned away from him like he was nothing. Meanwhile, Eclipse was screaming bloody murder as he was about to collide with the ground, only to start levitating 5 feet away from the floor. Sweat fell down the sides of his face as his heart was ready to leap out of his throat. His quickly head snapped to her, expecting a sinister stare back at him, only to hear her …laughing? She was laughing..? Why!?

“WHAT'S WRONG WITH YO-”

Eclipse tried to scream at her in a rare showcase of rage and vulnerability..but nothing was coming out of his mouth. He quickly noticed this and brought his hand to his face, only feeling air leave lips as he tried to yell for help. This only fueled his anxiety, he tried to regain his composure but he felt like he was breathing through a straw, both from his nose and his mouth.

“Relax, relax. You're fine, Iris. I'll inform you of what I am when you go to sleep…well when you go to sleep in a safe place.. I'm about sapped of energy so you'll be able to walk and talk out there soon enough.”
