I bite the nail of my thumb, creating nonsense thoughts inside of my head. I've been like this for hours now and my mind and body feel restless. What Ximina told me planted on my mind the other day, and by that she's not someone who'd easily put into her place. Palaban ako pero may limitasyon.
If only I could just stay away from Conan, perhaps I could put a distance... but, for how long? And how could I grow as a person if moving on from our past relationship is the thing I cannot undo?
Ang hirap pero kakayanin ko. Hindi man madali pero pauunti-untiin ko.
"Mama?"
A faint of smile rushed on my lips as I turn my head to face Braden.
"Bakit?" Mahinahon kong sambit.
"I can't sleep." usal niya.
"Halika." I motion my hand for him to closer.
He's holding his favorite pillow na soccer ball yung pillowcase niya.
"Gusto mo bang kumanta ako para makatulog ka or do you want me to read you a bedtime story?"
He shakes his head. I slump my shoulders down and pout.
"Ano ang gagawin ko? Gusto mo bang tumingin sa dagat? I can't sleep too so I'm just watching the sea as a past time. Baka antukin ako habang pinapanood yung dagat." usal ko.
"Can I do that?" he asks as he points his finger to the sea.
I nod. "Pwede naman."
"Okay. I'll do it."
My boy is growing older. And his features are very like Conan.
And Braden is a smart kid too and he doesn't like being taught repeatedly.
His teacher said Braden is more likely excelling in math and arts.
"Papa said we're going to the amused park tomorrow. There's so much fun there, mama. Would like to come with us?"
"It's amusement park." Pagtama ko.
"Yeah.
I twitch my lips and stop for a moment before answering his question. "I don't think I can." His face falls down. My heart squeezes in regret.
