It's already dark when Jungkook reaches the main pack house. He climbs up the third floor and enters his bedroom. He carefully brings out the lotus flowers and arranges them into a ceramic vase. He separates the ones with roots and places them in a container with water to prevent them from drying out. He plans to grow them in pots and line them on the balcony.

He is pleased with what he did on the flowers. His room is now covered with the sweet scent he misses. The scent of the beautiful omega who has been a constant uninvited guest inside his mind. He let out a bitter chuckle, 'get a grip Jungkook, he wouldn't want to be with an alphaless like you', he chastised himself.

His room is like a penthouse-it has all the amenities he needs; a spacious living room, a cozy bedroom with an adjoining balcony, a well-furnished dining room and a kitchen. This is one of the things his father did that he is thankful for. Though he's been a neglectful and unaffectionate father, he made sure to provide for his comforts.

Jungkook traipses his way to the kitchen. He brings out all the ingredients he'll be needing to make mak-guksu. Having to live alone in his own space, taught him to be independent and learn things, so he could thrive on his own. He learned how to cook, fix broken furniture and mend torn clothes.

After he's done cooking, he puts the noodles into a medium-sized plate and eats using a pair of chopsticks.
He is satisfied as he devours the mak-guksu, the taste isn't bad, it actually tastes really good. He internally praises himself because being alone, no one praises him in times like this.

After having his dinner, he cleans the dining table and puts the plate and chopsticks into the sink to wash them later

After having his dinner, he cleans the dining table and puts the plate and chopsticks into the sink to wash them later. He settles on the couch and rests for a bit. Ten minutes later, he hears a soft knock on the door.

"Jungkook, are you home? Can we talk?" His father Junseo asked outside the door. Jungkook is puzzled as to why his father wants to talk to him. He and his father never really talk. It's only during his birthdays when his father would say a few words of greeting to him. They never really sat down together and had a heart to heart talk like other fathers and sons do.

He opens the door and allows his father in. He and Junseo sit on the couch. After a few intakes of air, his father stares at the wall before he opens his mouth. "Kihyun wants to get married." Junseo commenced, finally meeting his son's black orbs. "I and your Aunt Hira thought it's a good idea. Maybe having his own family will make Kihyun more responsible. I want him to behave as a future leader. He will marry omega Yunhee and I think she'll make a wonderful next luna of this pack."

"What about Yunhee's mate? Isn't she going to wait for them?" He asked with a blank expression.

"Hira told me, they rejected each other." Junseo replied with certainty.

Jungkook knits his brows at what his father uttered. 'Rejected each other', it keeps ringing in his ears. He doesn't know if he should laugh or scowl. He does none as he intently gazes at his father. The lines on his father's face keep on adding each time he sees him. His father is getting old and Jungkook never had a good memory with him. His father's attention is with the pack and with his brother Kihyun. Such a pity, he thought innerly, having a father but not feeling like having one.
