TAEKOOK. Kim Taehyung is a male omega whose beauty is unmatched, but that does not stop his fated mate from rejecting him when they come of age to recognize each other. The reason is that Taehyung carries the mark of a barren tree, which signifies i...
Hira and Junseo are having dinner when she pauses and clears her throat. "Um, Junseo, it's been a few months since our sons-" Junseo gives his wife a judging look. Ignoring it, Hira continues, "I mean, since Jungkook and Kihyun got married to their mates, we haven't had dinner together as a family to celebrate their union." After her conversation with Miyeon, Hira's mind is in turmoil. She needs to create an opportunity to observe Taehyung and find out if he really has hidden powers.
Junseo quirks his brows at that, puzzled because Hira had never cared before whether Jungkook ate with them or not. The sudden suggestion leaves him wondering about Hira's intentions. "Why now, Hira? They are busy preparing for the competition. I don't think they need this interruption, and you know Kihyun and Jungkook don't get along," he replies.
"Then, don't you think dinner is a good way to start bridging the gap between the brothers, to mend their relationship? Besides, there are still a few days left before the next category, so one dinner won't make a difference," Hira says, trying to convince her husband.
"I think it's okay. I also hope Jungkook and Kihyun can get along. There's a possibility that one of them will be the future head of Obsidian, and I want the other to support whoever takes on that role," Junseo responds after a brief pause. "Establishing that bond now could create a positive atmosphere for the future, especially if they end up working together. Once again you've made a great suggestion, Hira. First, with Jungkook's wedding to Taehyung, which I applaud you for. I can see Jungkook smiling more these days and he appears healthier. Taehyung is a good choice for a husband."
"Even if Taehyung is infertile," Hira murmurs unconsciously, earning a sharp glare from Junseo.
"It doesn't matter. There are other ways they can have pups, or they can stay together without having any," Junseo replies, his voice taut with tension. Hira winces at his reaction, realizing the sensitivity surrounding the topic. "I didn't mean to bring it up," Hira quickly adds, her heart racing as she scans Junseo's expression, hoping to ease the tension.
Junseo's expression remains stern as he warns, "Don't bring it up again. Taehyung has been nothing but kind to Jungkook. He accepted my son even though his wolf is dormant, something no other omegas in this pack have done." Rising from his seat, Junseo moves closer, his presence looming as he emphasizes his point. "Your words can be hurtful, Hira. Taehyung deserves respect for marrying my son when others wouldn't." He takes a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. "We all have our flaws; you shouldn't make them worse by speaking thoughtlessly."
Hira nods, but she is seething inside. Junseo is overly protective of Jungkook and Taehyung, which doesn't sit right with her. Junseo quickly leaves the dining room without sparing Hira another glance, causing the woman to clench her fists in frustration. She wonders if there will be a time when Junseo will look at her the same way he used to look at her deceased twin. Will Junseo ever see her as more than just a placeholder?
