Hira knocks and enters Kihyun's room. The alpha is preparing to visit Minji who was sent to her uncle's pack as per Yunhee's demand.

"Where are you going, Kihyun? Your wedding is in three days. Shouldn't you at least check the preparations?" Hira asked her son.

"What are the helpers and planners for? That's their job. It's only a wedding and not my succession as the head alpha." Kihyun nonchalantly answered. "I'm going to visit Minji."

Hira takes the potion from her pocket. "Here, drink this. It will make you stronger and faster than an average wolf."

Kihyun takes the vial from her and looks at it closely. Can I overpower father if I drink this? Will I have a chance against him if I challenge him for the head alpha position?"

Hira's eyes flash blue. Her scent spikes as she shoots daggers at her son. "You will never touch a single strand of your father's hair or I'll be your enemy, Kihyun!" She hissed.

Kihyun flinches at his mother's outburst. "I can't believe you are still protecting him, mother. He doesn't give a damn about you! When will you accept that he only married you to give him an heir because his firstborn is useless? Junseo will never love you!"

"I don't care! As long as I'm his wife and the luna of this pack, your father is mine. Don't you dare hurt him, Kihyun. I will disown you!" Hira raised her voice as she warned her son.

"Suit yourself, mother. But if he chose another alpha to replace him as the head of this pack, I'll challenge him and whoever bastard he will appoint. I will not stand back and let someone snatch the position that's meant to be mine. I'll kill whoever will hinder me from becoming the head alpha of this pack. Mark my words, mother!" Kihyun stormed out of the main pack house leaving his mother pondering over his words.

Minji hurries to meet Kihyun at the entrance of her uncle's pack. She throws herself into Kihyun's arms. Kihyun can't abandon Minji yet. He needs the support of her uncle's pack and its ally packs in case his father changes his mind and doesn't choose him as his successor. The number of pack mates that will support him won't be enough if he is to fight with his father and the one his father would choose as the next head alpha. He is sure that it would be his cousin Namjoon. He is one of the strongest and smartest alpha in Obsidian. He is his only rival for the position. He needs to have a backup plan in case his father decides to relinquish him of being his heir.

They are passing by the pack grounds when Kihyun notices some alphas training and sparring against each other. He wants to try the effectiveness of the potion his mother gave him. He stops on his tracks. Minji looks at him, confused as to why the alpha is now removing his shirt. "Stay here, Minji. I want to train with those alphas. Watch me while I beat them to a pulp." Kihyun bragged with a smug grin.

Minji stands back as Kihyun approaches the alphas on the training ground. There are six bulky alphas training there. Kihyun talks to one of them. They encircle Kihyun, one of them initiates the attack and charges towards him. He kicks the first alpha that attacks him and the alpha howls in pain as he is thrown a few meters away from the training ground. Kihyun smirks at his newfound strength. Another two alphas charge at him. Kihyun quickly dodges their punches and retaliates with his own fists hitting the alphas jaws. The two alphas fall unconscious on the ground. The three remaining alphas simultaneously attack Kihyun but the latter overpowers them with ease, defeating them with a few kicks and punches. The head alpha of Shadow Pack who witnessed the fight is very pleased with Kihyun.

Minji's uncle walks up to Kihyun and pats his shoulder. "I see, Junseo's heir has grown into a formidable alpha. Your pack is lucky to have a strong future head alpha. I wonder what's taking Junseo too long to hand over his position to you." The older alpha praised Kihyun.
