Chapter 14🪷

Junseo searches for his younger son in the main pack house. Jungkook's attackers were Kihyun's friends and he wants to know if Kihyun was involved. Not bothering to knock, he enters his son's room.

"Kihyun, Minwoo and Sukjae were the alphas who attacked your brother. I want to know if you ordered them to hurt Jungkook." Junseo skipped the small talk and cut right to the chase.

Kihyun fakes his expression into looking offended and hurt. "F-father, how can you think so lowly of me? Do you think I would do that to my own blood? Is that how you see me?"

"Then, why would your friends attack Jungkook, huh?" Junseo asked again.

"I don't know, maybe Jungk- I mean hyung did or said something offensive to them? H-hyung isn't the angel you think he is." Kihyun blatantly lied.

Hira entered the room with a disgruntled expression. "Junseo, why every time something happens to Jungkook, you suspect Kihyun? It isn't Kihyun's fault that Jungkook is weak and can't defend himself. Isn't it the reason why you don't allow him to train near alphas because he could get hurt? Why don't you tell Jungkook not to anger them and stay away from the alphas of this pack." Hira scoffed at him.

"Don't tell me what to do with my son, Hira! Did you ever visit Jungkook in the pack clinic? He isn't just your stepson, he's also your nephew. I thought that when I married you, Jungkook would have a mother figure, turns out you don't have an ounce of care for him. I'm utterly disappointed in you!" Junseo spat and then turned to Kihyun. "And you, I'm warning you Kihyun. If I find out that you are involved in Jungkook's attack, I will disown you! Mark my words. I'd rather have Namjoon as the next head alpha than someone who's a coward and will resort to treacherous acts." Junseo warned his son, then turned on his heels, leaving the mother and son appalled.

As soon as Junseo goes out of the room, Hira slams the door shut. She starts wailing and throwing things like a madwoman. "I hate that freak! I hate him and his mother! Why doesn't he just die like Harin?"

Namjoon and Jin visit Jungkook in the pack clinic. The ravenette remains unconscious with the occasional grunts as proof that life hasn't abandoned him yet.

Namjoon takes a deep breath as he helplessly stares at Jungkook. "Hoseok, is there anything we can do to help him recover, to make him regain consciousness?"

"I have exerted all efforts, but nothing is working." Hoseok dejectedly replied, feeling frustrated as well.

Jin stared at the wall in deep thought. Then suddenly his eyes light up, he stands up but slumps on the chair again when he realizes his idea is nonsense. "I have this idea, but I think it won't work as well."

"What is it, Jinnie?" Namjoon inquired, intently looking at his mate.

"When us wolves are injured, we heal faster when our fated mates are near us, scenting and touching us. If we only knew who Jungkook's mate is, maybe we could bring him or her to help him heal." Jin explained.

"But we don't know who his fated mate is. I bet even Jungkook doesn't know because his wolf is asleep, there's no way he could smell or feel the bond." Hoseok rubbed his face, frustrated at the situation.

Just then, Yunhee storms inside the clinic. She pauses by the door of Jungkook's room and awkwardly glances at the three. She then darts her gaze at the unconscious ravenette on the bed.

Jin rolls his eyes and scoffs at her. "To whom do we owe your presence here, your highness?!" He mocked her with distaste. They knew how Yunhee led poor Jungkook on, made him believe he had a chance with her, only to whore herself with Kihyun. And now she's here while being engaged to Jungkook's brother. 'The audacity, what does this bitch want now?' Jin thought to himself while raising an eyebrow.
