A week later~

Namjoon and Jungkook are preparing themselves for the next event. They are training rigorously for the upcoming weapon category. Jungkook is focusing on perfecting his aim in archery, mastering the intricacies of precision and control, while Namjoon is honing his techniques with the spear, emphasizing agility and power in his throws and thrusts. They are both confident in their ability to win the category.

On the other hand, Kihyun is busy training and forming alliances with other packs that he believes can help him conquer Obsidian in case he loses the competition. His mother has just given him a few vials of a potion that will increase his strength. The effect of the potion only lasts for six hours, so he knows he can't rely solely on it. He isn't worried about Jungkook; it's Namjoon who intimidates him. Namjoon's strength and strategy in hand-to-hand combat should not be underestimated. Additionally, the elder's grey wolf is a formidable presence; his experience and cunning make him a dangerous opponent. As Kihyun formulates his plans, he understands that brute strength alone won't be enough to outsmart Namjoon. Therefore, he focuses on building alliances and training to enhance his own skills. The stakes are high, and Kihyun knows that every move he makes could tip the balance in this intense battle for dominance.

"Where are you going, Kihyun? I need you here. I think my heat is coming; I'm already experiencing preheat symptoms," Yunhee says, watching her husband pack some clothes into a backpack.

Without looking at her, Kihyun lets out a scoff, "I have more important things to do than cater to your needs, Yunhee. I have to make alliances to ensure that if I lose the competition, Obsidian will still be mine. I alone will be the pack's head alpha."

Yunhee's eyes narrow in disappointment as she feels the sting of Kihyun's words, realizing that her husband is prioritizing his ambitions over her. "You're putting power above your own mate? This isn't just about you, Kihyun. I need your support now more than ever," she pleads, her voice steady despite the hurt.

Kihyun finally turns to face her, a mix of irritation and exasperation etched across his features. "Can't you see? I'm doing this for us. I'm doing this so you can be the luna of this pack," he barks. Mockingly chuckling, he adds, "Wasn't it the reason you chose me over Jungkook? You know I'm destined to be the leader of Obsidian, so quit whining and leave me be. What you should do is make yourself useful and convince that fool brother of yours to side with us. Jihan has been hanging out with those freaks lately."

Yunhee's heart sinks as Kihyun's words stings her deeply, and she fights the urge to tear up. She had believed in his ambitions, yet his dismissive attitude felt like a betrayal of their bond. "Kihyun, being a leader doesn't mean abandoning your mate," she replied softly, her voice trembling slightly. "It means being there for each other, especially during tough times. I chose you because I believed in your strength, but I need you too." Her words hang in the air as she watches him grapple with his priorities, and Yunhee begins to regret choosing Kihyun over Jungkook.

"Yunhee, I have to go. I don't have time for your useless blabbering. When you get your heat, make sure to lock the door. I don't want you disgracing me by whoring around with alphas," Kihyun snaps, his patience wearing thin. Yunhee feels her heart twist at the harshness of his tone, the laughter of their earlier moments now a distant memory. "You're wrong if you think I could ever betray you," she whispers, tears threatening to spill. However, Kihyun merely shrugs off her emotions, grabbing his backpack and striding towards the door, leaving Yunhee in a whirlwind of confusion and heartbreak as she contemplates her choices and the future of their relationship.

Taehyung decides to bring lunch to Jungkook at the training ground. A proud smile spreads across his face as he sees his husband focused and determined, sweat glistening on his forehead as he listens to Namjoon after practicing his archery skills.
