TAEKOOK. Kim Taehyung is a male omega whose beauty is unmatched, but that does not stop his fated mate from rejecting him when they come of age to recognize each other. The reason is that Taehyung carries the mark of a barren tree, which signifies i...
Kihyun is training with his alpha friends when Yejun joins them. The alpha walks over to Yejun even before he reaches them. Kihyun drapes an arm around the omega's shoulder and introduces him to his friends as they approach.
"Guys, this is Jung Yejun. He is the key for me to win the hunting category because he will point me to the largest prey in the forest," Kihyun proudly announces. Yejun stands among them, preening, delighted with the attention. For the first time, he feels good because he is the focus of attention, not his goody two-shoes brother.
Yejun beams at Kihyun's cordial introduction, his heart racing with a mix of pride and excitement at finally being recognized for his unique skills rather than being overshadowed by his brother. Surrounded by Kihyun's elite alpha friends, he feels a surge of confidence, eager to prove his worth in the hunt and embrace this newfound camaraderie. Yejun makes a mental note to cherish this moment of validation and acceptance in their circle.
"I won't disappoint you, Head Alpha Kihyun," Yejun replies. Kihyun's friends agree with him for addressing Kihyun as the head alpha. They are confident that no one can beat Kihyun in the competition, and the position is as good as his.
"Let's continue with the training," Kihyun tells his friends, then gazes back at Yejun. "If you're not busy, you can watch us train and give your insights on how we can improve our hunting techniques."
"Okay, I'll just sit on the bench," Yejun walks over to the bench and settles in. He watches as Kihyun and his friends train, but his mind is elsewhere. He ponders the earlier events and searches for any guilt he may be feeling for causing a rift in his brother's newfound relationship with Wooshik. Throughout their lives, Hoseok has always been the favored one between them by their parents and peers. Now that he's back in Obsidian, Yejun is not going to stand back and live in his twin's shadow anymore. He will help Kihyun become the next head alpha, eventually gaining his favor and becoming a significant figure in the pack.
Yejun smiles to himself as he pictures Wooshik. The man intrigues him with his ability to shift into a snake. Yejun has always been fond of animals, perhaps because of his gift. He can easily manipulate them but not Wooshik and he wonders why. Was Wooshik born half human, half snake? Or was he purely human at birth? These questions are the mysteries he wants to uncover, and for that he'll continue pursuing him. It's like hitting two birds with one stone -he'll satisfy his curiosity and he'll anger Hoseok to the core. A complete win-win for him.

Wooshik stands just outside Hoseok's door. He has knocked several times but the beta doctor is not opening for him. He slumps down on the ground and leans his back against the door, his mind clouded with fear that he will lose Hoseok.
After a few moments, he unsteadily gets up and is about to knock again when scales begin to appear on his hands.

He quickly covers his hands with his sleeves and, with a heavy heart, turns around to leave Hoseok's cabin. He plans to try talking to Hoseok again the following day, but for now, he needs to hide in the forest before shifting into his snake form.
