Yves: But I just can't stand the idea of anyone misunderstanding you because of that flippant fool...

Licht: If they do, it just means they have poor judgement.

Licht glanced my way, his eyes the same crimson color as Nokto's, and every bit as unreadble. But before I could say anything, he looked away again.

Licht: Leon, you promised...

Leon: I did. I'll come duel with you as soon as I'm done here.

Licht nodded once, and then stood up and left the room without another word.

Veronica: Duel?

My gaze was suddenly drawn to the hilt of Leon's sword, just visible above the table.

(Oh, right. How could I forget? You're all skilled swordsmen, and you fight to protect Rhodolite. There's more than one reason why people are afraid of the 'noble beasts')

Veronica: ...I've still got a lot to learn about you all, don't I?

Yves: Well, if you really want to, I suppose we wouldn't mind you watching us train.

Veronica: Thanks, Yves, I'd like that, actually. But... there's something else I want to do first.

Leon chuckled at my words, and I looked up in surprise to find him smirking at me.

Leon: I think I have a pretty good idea who that involves. Mind if I take guess?

(Great... Prince Chevalier isn't here, either. You were right, Leon. He's not going to be easy to find.) Leon had somehow known that I'd been hoping to find Chevalier and talk to him. He'd told me the places I'd be most likely to find him in the palace, and Jin had offered a few suggestions as well. But Leon had also warned me that Chevalier wouldn't be easy to find. (I don't think I'll have much trouble getting to know Leon's faction. But I need to get to know Chevalier's faction as well.) Sariel had told me that Chevalier's faction favored foreign politics, but I knew they differed from Leon's faction in many other ways, too.

Veronica: And I need to get to know them all, starting with Chevalier, and then Clavis, and Luke, and... Nokto.

I frowned immediately as my memories from the night before surfaced.

Nokto: You called?
