Chapter 30

Caitlan's POV:

I decided to do a bit of jewellery making. Instead of the Grotto, I wanted to have a bit of quiet so I did it in the pool in the Cavern. I made some seashell bracelets, some with tortoiseshells. I also made some rings. I made 7 rings: for me, Mum, Lyla, Nixie, Sirena, Evie and Carly.

I went to the Grotto, mum was on her way in there. "I like your bracelet, I have one just like it, but with tortoiseshells" mum smiled at Sirena. "You've been jewellery making too?" I smiled. Sirena nodded. "What have you made?" She asked excited. I showed her the bracelets and the rings. "They're gorgeous!" She said in awe. "I've made seven rings, choose one each" I smiled. "Really?" Nixie asked. "Of course" I held the rings on the palm of my hand. Lyla, Nixie and Sirena chose their rings. "Mum?" I smiled, mum chose a ring. We each put our rings on. "Who are the other two for?" Lyla asked. "Carly and Evie" I replied. "Cait, you coming?" Sirena asked me. "Where we going?" I wondered. "The cafe" Lyla smiled. "Oh yeah, we're gonna need some money" Nixie stood up. "More?" Mum said suspicious. "Yeah we're all out" Nixie answered. "It doesn't seem to last very long" Sirena said in curiosity. "You don't say? I find that too" Mum sarcastically remarked. I looked at her, we both tried not to laugh.  Nixie picked up our gold coins, suggesting we use it. "Yeah, you tried that before. We all know how that ended" I laughed. "If you're out of money, you should pick some up" Nixie suggested. "It's not that easy, I have to work for it." Mum smiled. "What about Caitlan?" Lyla asked. "She's my daughter, it's my job to provide for her." Mum brought me into a hug. "I thought your job was the principal?" Sirena said in wonder. I laughed "Food is on me".

At the cafe, I gave Evie and Carly their ring as the other three sat down. "They're gorgeous!" Carly said admiringly. "Thank you" Evie smiled and the two brought me into a hug.

I went to the toilet and when I came back, Sirena had gone. "Where's Sirena?" I asked and Nixie said she's gone to get supplies for bracelets to sell at Evie's store. I had my seafood then I went to find Sirena.

She was in the Moon Pool. "Need an extra set of hands?" I smiled. "I don't have enough stock for twenty bracelets." She said sadly. "You've got a couple already, let's find some more shells and head to the Grotto." I reassured her.

We swam in the reef and gathered some more shells. We then saw Zac and swam off home quickly. Hopefully he didn't see us.

"You go find the others, I'll sort the bracelets" I said panicked and Sirena nodded. I made a couple more bracelets, then I got my Moon Ring and used it to duplicate the bracelets to make twenty. Mum then came in. "What are you doing, sweetheart?" She asked suspiciously. I sighed. "Nixie volunteered Sirena to make bracelets for Evie's shop, and Sirena was panicking so I offered to help, we gathered more shells, we saw Zac but we hope he didn't see us. Mum I'm sorry" I felt myself tear up. "Hey, it's not your fault. Come here" she opened her arms and I walked over and engulfed me in a hug. "And I'm guessing you used the Moon Ring to duplicate the bracelets?" Mum suggested. "You're not angry are you?" I asked. "Of course not darling" she smiled. I gave her the Moon Ring to put away.

I met Sirena at the cafe. "How did you make all these?" She asked shocked. "I'm just a fast worker" I smiled and handed her the bracelets.

I fancied a nap, so I went to the Grotto and fell asleep, with Poseidon. Mum and the other three came in. "I've managed to persuade Zac that it was just a dolphin he saw." Lyla smiled with relief. "You must be very careful from now on girls. You need to be alert a lot more" mum warned.
