Caitlan's POV:

I took a walk to the cafe. I fancied treating mum to breakfast. Erik was behind the counter. "Morning Caitlan what can I get for you?" He smiled. "Hey Erik. Can I get two lobsters, a portion of prawns, two chocolate chip muffins and two watermelon and lime frappes please?" I requested. "Coming right up!" He got my order ready.

On the way back, I ran into Cam. "Can we talk?" He asked. "You're joking right?" I replied. "You wasn't interested in talking when the trident nearly killed me, or when you tried to destroy the Moon Pool. So no. We can't talk." I snapped and walked home.

I went home with breakfast. Mum was on the roof. "I wondered where you wandered off to, what's this my little starfish?" Mum questioned as she saw breakfast. "Am I not allowed to treat my mum?" I smiled. "No, it's my job to treat you sweetheart" mum kissed my cheek. "Well if you don't want it..." I teased. "Very funny. Come on let's eat" mum laughed. I told mum about Cam trying to talk to me and me snapping, she gave me a hug to make me feel better.

After breakfast, me and mum headed to the Grotto. We heard bickering. Zac was here with Ondina, Sirena and Mimi. "Hello. You must be the new mermaids Cait and Sirena were telling me about" mum smiled. "I'm Ondina, this is Mimi" Ondina said. "I'm Rita. Caitlan's mother. Welcome to our home. Which I'm happy for you to visit, so long you respect our property" mum took our jewellery box off Mimi.

Ondina was arguing with Sirena and Zac about the next full moon. Zac said that we can find out how he'd react, hinting at Sirena's Moon Ring. Me and mum smiled slightly.

Sirena used her Moon Ring which put Zac into a trance. But then I went into a trance and saw what he was seeing: a tunnel on Mako, a weird chamber with strange blue lighting and markings and a trident symbol.

Mum brought me out of the trance by holding my hand. I saw Mimi coming out of a trance too, was she seeing what I was? Zac said he was going to Mako, Ondina said they're going too. "Did you hear an invitation? Cait, are you coming?" Zac asked me. I looked at mum, she looked like she didn't want me to. "I'll stay here" I said quietly as the other four left. "Thank you for not going sweetheart" mum said. I smiled and rested my head on her shoulder. "What happened by the way when Sirena used the Moon Ring?" Mum added. "I don't know how, but I saw what Zac saw. And I think Mimi did too." I said quietly. Mum looked as though she knew something. "Do you know something?" I asked. Mum was hesitant but she said "I'm not completely certain, but I think that Zac is the son of Nerissa. It was said that her children would share visions, visions only possible by blood. But it doesn't explain why you share them" mum told me. Then I remembered. "Our blood pact" I said in realisation. "Promise me you'll keep this between us, my little starfish. Like I said, I'm not certain" mum pleaded. "You should know by now, you can trust me mum" I smiled slightly and mum held my face in her hands and rested her head against mine.

Mimi, Ondina and Sirena came back and told us that they discovered a merman chamber. "Mako is a mermaid island, why would it have a place for mermen?" Mimi asked. "Mako didn't always belong to us. We took it from mermen years and years ago" I said. Ondina said that they've made the bond between Zac and Mako stronger and that it was a bad idea using the Moon Ring.

Sirena and Ondina left, Mimi hung about. "Could I talk to you Caitlan? In private." Mimi asked looking at mum. "I'll be getting ready for bed." Mum smiled and left. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Did you have a vision of the merman chamber when we first used  the Moon Ring?" Mimi asked me. I nodded. "So did I. Why do you think that only we saw the vision that Zac had? And not the others?" I promised mum I wouldn't say anything. "I really don't know Mimi. You best head back to Mako, it's getting late and the others will wonder where you are" I smiled and Mimi smiled back and left.
