Juliette POV

I was startled awake by an incessant banging on the door.

I tried to turn over but was held in place by a heavy arm wrapped around my waist. My body was tucked against Sebastian's under the covers, our legs tangled together as he pulled me tighter into him. Sebastian was burying his face deeper into my hair, trying to block out the noise and get a few more minutes of sleep.

The knocking persisted....

"What the fuck..." he mumbled in my ear, his voice still heavy with sleep as he removed the arm from my waist, rolled over to his bedside table and picked up his watch.

"What time is it?" I asked as I stretched my arms above my head.

"Half past 4," he groaned as he slammed the watch back onto the table and starting fumbling around for his glasses.

I shot up in bed quickly and scanned my body and the bed, Sebastian's clothes and the bedding were still intact. I let out a sigh of relief.

Sebastian swung his legs off the bed and sat up, grumbling and cursing in Gaelic. He was clearly irritated to be woken up so early, but I was ecstatic. I had slept through nearly an entire night without any nightmares.

I did get woken up at some point, by Sebastian, I thought. The memory was foggy, like perhaps that had been part of a dream as well. He had woken me up just to make sure I was okay. And we talked about sex for some reason?

Oh Merde.

The memory of what we did last night brought heat to my cheeks. It wasn't sex, exactly, but certainly the most intimate we had ever been. I could taste myself on his lips the rest of the night...

More knocks at the door interrupted my thoughts.

Whoever was outside the door was not going away. Sebastian gestured for me to stay in the bedroom while he answered the door.

"PROFESSOR!" a girl's voice called through the door. Were these the joys of teaching?

I stayed tucked behind the bedroom door as Sebastian passed through his sitting area, threw on a robe and opened the door to the corridor.

"Miss Parkinson, do you know what time it is-"

"Have you seen Rosalie!?" the student panted.

"Yes, she's up in the hospital wing. Its far too early for visitors, you should really-"

"I was just up there, Professor, she's not there. The nurse said she was supposed to be on bedrest until Tuesday. I thought maybe you would know where she is. She's been taking extra dueling lessons with you and Miss Fontaine, right?"

I slowly emerged from the bedroom at the mention of my name. Sebastian closed the door slightly to block me from Carina's view while I listened.

"Miss Parkinson," Sebastian sighed, "I don't provide dueling lessons at four in the morning. How did you even get into the faculty tower at this hour?"

"I'm a prefect, sir, remember?"

"But why were you visiting the hospital wing at four in the morning?"

She didn't seem to have an answer for that. Sebastian sighed again, this one more exasperated than the last.

"She probably went back to her common room, as should you."

"I've already checked her common room. Her leg is still broken, Professor! What if she fell or has fainted again somewhere?!" The desperation in her voice grew with each word.
