Feels like I've been ready
For you to come home for so long
That I didn't think to ask you
Where you'd gone, so why'd you go?
And you said, "Mhm-mhm-mhm-mm"
And you said, "Mm-hm"

Down
Down
Down
I was swimming in darkness, a prisoner in my body for what felt like years.
Deeper
Heavier
Darker
Is this what dying feels like?
I can't be dying. Can I?
So many things I wanted to do, and now none of it matters.
I'm free from so many things, but somehow it brings me no relief.
I need to see Rose again. I need to know that she's safe.
I need to strangle Renatus Lestrange within an inch of his miserable life.
I need to thank Liam, however the hell he got here.
Most importantly, I need to tell Sebastian I love him.
Finally, I saw a light on the other side of my eyelids, but it took another year before I found the strength to open them.
The room was too bright, so it must have been midday. I was trapped under bed linens in a familiar room, Sebastian's room at the Sallow Estate.
But that doesn't make any sense.
I had been in Paris, a hostage in my ex-lover's home.
My eyes drift down to my feet that were once bound to bedposts. Instead, I found them pinned under a messy mop of brown hair. He was facing away from me, head resting on my knees as he sat in a chair next to the bed. Still, I recognized that tousled brown hair anywhere.
My Seb.
He stirred at my movements and groggily wiped sleep from his eyes. They widened the moment he realized I was awake, and they were quickly twinkling with tears.
"Jules!" he lunged toward me, arms open and ready to take me into an embrace.
I flinched away from him, without even wanting to. His face twitches with hurt, which he quickly conceals with a sweet smile.
