Scene: Eddie's Apartment, on a Saturday Morning
It’s a sunny Saturday morning, and Eddie is making breakfast for Christopher. The smell of pancakes fills the kitchen as Christopher sits at the table, waiting to eat.
Christopher: "Dad, can Buck come over today?"
Eddie: (smiling) "I don’t see why not. I’ll give him a call and see if he’s free."
Eddie picks up his phone and dials Buck’s number. After a few rings, Buck answers, sounding cheerful.
Buck: "Hey, Eddie! What’s up?"
**Eddie**: "Morning, Buck. Christopher was wondering if you’d like to come over today. We’re having pancakes."
Buck: "Pancakes, you say? I’m in. I’ll be there in thirty minutes."
Eddie: "Great. See you soon."
Scene: Eddie's Apartment, Later That Morning
Buck arrives at Eddie’s apartment with a big smile and a small bag in hand. He’s greeted by Christopher, who is excited to see him.
Christopher: "Hi, Buck! What did you bring?"
Buck: "Hey buddy. Thought you might like some maple syrup and a few toppings for your pancakes."
Eddie: "You didn’t have to do that, but thanks. Come on in."
They sit down to breakfast, chatting and laughing. Buck and Christopher bond over their shared love of pancakes, while Eddie watches, feeling grateful for the friendship they’ve built.
Buck: "So, Christopher, what do you like to do on weekends?"
Christopher: "I like going to the park and playing football with my dad. He says I’m getting pretty good at it."
Buck: "Football, huh? Can you do that with your crutches?"
Christopher: "Of course I can. We play football with our feet so I can still hold my crutches with my hands"
Eddie: " He can do anything, he's a warrior"
Buck: "Maybe we can all go to the park later and you can show me some of your moves."
Christopher: "Yeah! That sounds fun."
Eddie: (smiling) "It’s a plan, then. After breakfast, we’ll head to the park."
Scene: Local Park, Late Morning
The park is bustling with activity as families and friends enjoy the sunny day. Eddie, Buck, and Christopher find a spot near a flat, accessible area where they can easily play football and enjoy the outdoors.
Buck: "Alright, Christopher, show me what you’ve got."
Christopher throws the ball to Buck with surprising accuracy. Buck catches it and throws it back gently, and they continue playing, laughing and cheering each other on.
Eddie: "You’ve got some serious talent, mijo."
Christopher: "Thanks, Dad. Buck, you try to throw it really far!"
They play football for a while, enjoying the sunny day. Eddie notices a familiar face approaching. It’s Carla, Christopher’s caregiver, who’s also become a close family friend.
Carla: "Hey there! Looks like you’re all having a great time."
Eddie: "Hey, Carla. Yeah, just enjoying the weekend. This is Buck, by the way. Buck, this is Carla."
