Scene: Buck and Eddie’s Bedroom, Morning
The alarm clock buzzed incessantly, but neither Buck nor Eddie stirred from their deep sleep. The exhaustion of the previous day’s events had taken its toll, and they remained blissfully unaware of the passing time. The room was serene, with soft morning light filtering through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the two men snuggled up together in bed.
Christopher’s alarm clock went off in his room, the cheerful tune waking him up. He rubbed his eyes and stretched, yawning as he looked around. Realizing his dads hadn't woken up, he decided to check on them. Slipping out of bed, he padded softly down the hallway and peeked into their room.
Seeing Buck and Eddie sleeping soundly, Christopher smiled. He didn’t want to disturb them, knowing how much they needed their rest. Quietly, he went back to his room and got himself ready for school, dressing and gathering his school bag.
Just as he was about to make breakfast for himself, there was a gentle knock on the front door. Christopher walked over and opened it to find Carla standing there with a warm smile.
Carla: "Good morning, Chris. How are you?"
Christopher: "Good morning, Carla. I’m good. Buck and Dad are still sleeping."
Carla: "I figured they might be. That’s why I came to take you to school. Let’s let them sleep a little longer, okay?"
Christopher nodded, feeling relieved. Just then, there was another knock at the door. Carla opened it to find Maddie standing there, holding a small bag of pastries.
Maddie: "Hey, Carla. Hey, Chris. How are you doing this morning?"
Carla: "We’re good. Just about to head out to take Christopher to school."
Christopher: "Aunty Maddie, are you staying here?"
Maddie: "I thought I’d wait for Buck and Eddie to wake up. I brought some pastries for breakfast."
Christopher: "Okay. Thanks, Maddie."
Carla gave Maddie a knowing smile before turning back to Christopher.
Carla: "Ready to go, Chris?"
Christopher: "Yeah, let me just grab my bag."
Christopher ran to get his school bag while Maddie made her way into the living room. Carla followed him out to the car, ensuring he was safely buckled in before driving off.
Scene: Living Room, Late Morning
Maddie settled herself on the couch, sipping a cup of coffee she had made in the kitchen. She glanced at the clock, noting the time. It was almost 11 a.m. She decided to wait a bit longer before waking Buck and Eddie, wanting to let them sleep as much as they needed.
In the bedroom, Buck stirred first. He blinked groggily, stretching his arms and wincing slightly at the discomfort from his burns. Eddie woke up a moment later, yawning and rubbing his eyes.
Buck: "Morning, Eddie."
Eddie: "Morning, Buck. How did you sleep?"
Buck: "Best sleep I’ve had in ages."
Eddie smiled, leaning in to kiss Buck gently.
Eddie: "Me too. It was nice not having to worry about alarms or anything."
Buck glanced at the clock, his eyes widening in surprise.
Buck: "Eddie, it’s almost 11! We were supposed to take Chris to school!"
