Chapter 18

Scene: Eddie’s House, A Few Days Later

After a few more dates, Buck and Eddie decide it’s time to tell Christopher about their relationship. They are both nervous, unsure of how he will react. The living room is filled with a quiet anticipation, the air thick with the importance of the moment. They sit Christopher down on the couch, their expressions serious but loving.

Eddie: "Chris, mijo, there’s something we need to talk to you about."

Christopher looks up from his book, his eyes curious and slightly concerned.

Christopher: "What is it, Dad?"

Eddie glances at Buck, who nods reassuringly. Buck's presence is a source of strength for Eddie, and they share a brief, encouraging look before turning back to Christopher.

Eddie: "You know how Buck has been spending a lot of time with us lately?"

Christopher nods, his expression thoughtful.

Christopher: "Yeah, I really like having him around."

Buck smiles, his heart warmed by the boy’s words. He shifts slightly closer, his hand brushing Eddie's for a brief, comforting moment.

Buck: "Well, Chris, your dad and I... we’ve realized that we have strong feelings for each other. We love each other, and we want to be together."

Christopher’s eyes widen as he takes in their words. His expression is a mix of surprise and curiosity.

Christopher: "You mean, like boyfriends?"

Eddie nods, his heart pounding with anxiety and hope.

Eddie: "Yes, exactly like that."

Christopher looks between them, processing the information. His brow furrows for a moment, and then a huge smile spreads across his face, lighting up his eyes.

Christopher: "That’s awesome! I always wanted you to be happy, Dad. And Buck, you make him really happy."

Relief floods through Buck and Eddie. They exchange a look of pure joy and love, feeling as if a massive weight has been lifted off their shoulders. They pull Christopher into a group hug, their hearts full and their spirits soaring.

Eddie: "Thank you, Chris. That means a lot to us."

Buck: "Yeah, it really does. We love you, buddy."

Christopher beams, his initial worry replaced with happiness. He looks up at them, his eyes shining with sincerity.

Christopher: "I love you too. Both of you. That means we're a family now."

They hold each other tightly, the bond between them stronger than ever. Buck and Eddie know that their journey is just beginning. They’ve faced challenges and will face more in the future, but with their love and Christopher’s support, they feel ready for anything.

As the embrace loosens, Christopher looks up at Buck, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Christopher: "You know, Buck, I always wanted you to be my second dad. You're already like family to me."

Buck's eyes fill with tears at Christopher's heartfelt words. He blinks them back, smiling through the emotion.

Buck: "Thank you, Chris. That means more to me than I can say. I always considered you like a son."

Eddie's heart swells with pride and love as he watches the exchange. He wraps an arm around both Buck and Christopher, pulling them close again.

Eddie: "We're going to be one amazing family, aren't we?"
