Scene: Buck and Eddie’s House, Morning
It had been a week since Buck had returned home, and the house was slowly returning to its normal rhythm. Buck was adjusting to the familiar surroundings, grateful for every little piece of normalcy. On this particular morning, the doorbell rang, and Eddie went to answer it, finding Hen standing on the doorstep.
Eddie: "Hey, Hen! Come on in."
Hen stepped inside, smiling warmly.
Hen: "Hey, Eddie. Hey, Buck. How are you guys doing?"
Buck: "Hi, Hen. We’re good. Just trying to get back into the swing of things."
Hen looked around, noticing the tidy house and the relaxed atmosphere.
Hen: "I’m glad to hear it. Actually, I came by with a little proposition."
Eddie: "Oh? What’s that?"
Hen: "I was thinking of taking Christopher over to our place for the day. Denny’s been dying to show him his new toys, and I think you two guys could use some time just for yourselves."
Buck and Eddie exchanged a look, both appreciating the thoughtfulness behind Hen’s offer.
Buck: "That sounds great, Hen. Chris would love that."
Eddie: "Yeah, thanks, Hen. We could definitely use some time alone."
Hen: "Perfect. I’ll keep him entertained all day. You guys just relax and do something fun."
Buck and Eddie both thanked Hen as she left to pick up Christopher from his room. Soon, Hen and Christopher were out the door, and the house felt a bit quieter.
Scene: Kitchen, Late Morning
Buck was in the kitchen, diligently wiping down the counter after breakfast. The faint clinking of dishes and the sound of running water filled the room. He hummed a little tune under his breath, enjoying the sense of normalcy that came with the mundane chore. The kitchen, with its warm, inviting atmosphere, felt like the heart of their home.
Eddie walked in, leaning against the doorframe for a moment, simply watching Buck. There was something incredibly comforting about seeing Buck engaged in such a simple task, a sign that things were slowly returning to normal. After a moment, Eddie couldn’t resist the urge to join him. He walked up behind Buck, slipping his arms around Buck’s waist and pulling him into a warm embrace.
Eddie: "You shouldn’t be doing this. You’re still in recovery."
The gentle reproach in Eddie’s voice was softened by the affection that laced his words. Buck smiled, leaning back into Eddie’s embrace. He turned his head, capturing Eddie’s lips in a soft, lingering kiss.
Buck: "I know, but I want to help. I feel like I’ve been sitting around too much."
Eddie kissed Buck back, his hands moving in soothing circles on Buck’s stomach, feeling the rise and fall of his breaths. The contact was comforting, a reminder of their connection and the love they shared.
Eddie: "Well, how about we do something fun instead? You want to go to the movies?"
Buck’s eyes lit up with excitement at the suggestion, his weariness momentarily forgotten.
Buck: "Yeah, that sounds great! I’ve been dying to see the new Deadpool movie."
Eddie raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on his lips.
Eddie: "Deadpool and Wolverine? I haven’t seen the previous films, but if you want to see it, I’m in."
Buck turned fully in Eddie’s arms, his hands resting on Eddie’s shoulders as he looked up at him with a grin.
