We didn't sleep at all; maybe our subconscious knows reality is better than dreamland.
It's 8 am, and we planned to eat out for breakfast. There's a decent restaurant within walking distance from my place.
We stroll side by side, a pleasurable way to pass the time, breathing fresh air and love, comfortable in our own space.
"You know, the icing on the cake was when you gave me a tiny hope we have a chance together," she turns to me and smiles. "So, I decided to wait and hold onto that tiny possibility," she turns away and looks at the pavement.
"I did? How and when? What tiny possibility?" I ask curiously.
"Because the night when I unwisely kissed you... you kissed back. And I tasted how much you wanted me to stay," she said, looking down and smiling as we walked together.
I wanted to be embarrassed, but it made sense. When she kissed me, I didn't even pull back—she did. It was the beginning of our vortex of confusion.
She suddenly stopped walking, standing in front of a travel agency.
I stared at her while she stared at the shop's window, checking places and posters. It was a small and simple shop but offered complete packages.
"Let's travel again, just like the old times, but this time it's different because now, you're finally mine," she said confidently and merrily, looking straight into my eyes. Her smile radiated pure joy and contentment.
"But can't we book online and plan it out first?" I suggested, rubbing her arm gently, thinking about our work and schedules.
"We're already here. We both know we shouldn't waste time and opportunities anymore, haha," she chuckled, poking fun at our waiting game love story.
She gently put her arm around my neck, wearing that perfume again. Oh, how I've missed it. My soul danced whenever it caught that specific scent; I felt safe.
"Just because you've been content with what I do for you, doesn't mean I won't make even greater efforts for you," she declared aloud. It truly felt like a 'pinch me' moment.
I hugged her tightly, oblivious to my surroundings.
"Just hold me a bit longer," I requested.
She wrapped her arms around my back, kissed my head, and held me tight, sending a tingling sensation up my spine.
Though we attracted everyone's attention, we didn't mind.
Most of the other customers had already left, so we decided to enter.
And they were right; it felt like walking into a house and knowing you're safe and at home. Everything seemed familiar and comforting. The foundation was solidly built.
"So... shall we go?" she asked.
"Yes!" I exclaimed excitedly, like a kid.
Her hand reached for mine, the hand I knew better than my own.
"So... Jeju?"
"Jeju!"
I found my person, my home. I hope everyone out there can do the same.
