"Why are we up here again?" Peter's voice carried a hint of whine. "We were here yesterday."
Indigo had been taking Peter along to her stakeouts of Julian Blackwell all week. She had told him it was to teach him how to conduct a proper stakeout, but in reality, it was to keep a close eye on him.
"I'm closing in on him tonight, and I need to make sure he sticks to his schedule," Indigo stated, her eyes fixed on Julian.
Julian had spent the entire day in his office; that was his routine. From 8 am to 9 pm, he was behind his desk, immersed in whatever occupied his time. But come evening, his habits shifted. Like clockwork, he would migrate to a hotel bar, a magnet for other high-ranking men. There, drink in hand, he thrived on attention. And tonight, that was precisely how Indigo planned to lure him out and confront him alone.
"So when do we go in tonight?" Peter asked eagerly.
Indigo sat up from her spot on the roof, fixing him with a stern look.
"This is a me thing, not a we thing. You are not to interfere with this at all," Indigo said firmly.
"But what if you need my help?" Peter asked, sitting up with a hopeful expression.
"I don't think I'll need help with Mr. 'I need my assistant to tie my shoes' Blackwell," Indigo replied dryly. She saw Peter giving her a pleading look. Indigo sighed, relenting slightly, "If I need your help, I will text you. But I don't want you coming in unless I tell you."
She knew Peter wanted to help, but the method she planned to use to deal with this guy was not suitable for children.
"Let's go so we can get you back to your aunt," Indigo said, rising to her feet and motioning for Peter to follow.

"What do you think of this one?" Indigo asked May.
Indigo had ran into May in the hallway after returning from the grocery store, and they had quickly struck up a friendship. May was one of the sweetest people Indigo had ever met, and despite their growing bond, Indigo hadn't disclosed to May that she was training her nephew, who happened to be Spider-Man. Instead, they bonded over shared interests and personal stories over glasses of wine.
May didn't seem to care about Indigo's past as an Avenger, and Indigo hadn't delved into the details of her more clandestine activities or her relationship with Bucky. Instead, their conversations revolved around May's late husband and Indigo's dating life.
Now May was sitting on Indigo's bed, eagerly helping her pick out a dress for a date. Little did May know, the supposed date was actually Indigo's strategy to catch the attention of a corrupt politician.
"I love that one," May exclaimed, clapping her hands in delight as Indigo modeled a dress borrowed from Pepper. It was a sleek, form-fitting red dress that accentuated Indigo's figure. She slipped on a pair of black stilettos and grabbed her purse, readying herself for the evening ahead.
