7 Months Later...

"What am I supposed to do?" Indigo whined, resting her head on the picnic table.

"Maybe try a dating app, I've heard those things are fun," Nat suggested, sitting next to her.

Indigo lifted her head, observing Steve and Gracie darting around the park, their laughter filling the air. Her heart warmed at the sight of her daughter's joy.

She had ended things with Chris a week ago; he had grown too clingy for her liking. She wasn't interested in a relationship—never had been. But right now, she felt a need for someone to help her unwind, to take the edge off.

"How are Gracie's nightmares?" Nat asked, concern lining her voice.

Indigo shrugged, her brows furrowing. "It's the same one almost every night, but she never tells me," she sighed. "She just wakes up screaming and then falls asleep in seconds."

"Sounds like her mother," Nat teased, earning an eye roll from Indigo.

Changing the subject, Indigo asked, "How are you and Steve?" She knew they were taking things slow, trying to make their relationship work. Seeing her sister happy brought Indigo immense joy.

"I have all the time in the world with that man, and I'm loving every minute of it," Nat replied, beaming as she watched Steve twirling Gracie around.

"Well, you better hurry up and lock that down before Gracie steals your man," Indigo laughed.

"My sweet girl can have him if she wants," Nat chuckled. "I'll just have to navigate my way through the dating apps."

Indigo joined in, shaking her head. "Well, I'm sure as hell not going to be on any dating apps."

They watched as Steve jogged up to them, hands on hips, with Gracie happily playing with Alpine on the ground nearby.

"I can hear you two," Steve said, smirking at Nat. "I better not find you on any dating apps, baby."

Indigo watched Nat's cheeks blush as he winked at her, memories of Bucky's similar possessiveness flashing through her mind.

"You don't have to worry about me," Nat said, smiling up at him. "I've already found my perfect match."

Indigo rolled her eyes at their gushiness. "Okay, okay, that's enough before I throw up," she teased.

"Unkie Stevey!" Gracie yelled out. "Come backkkk."

Indigo chuckled at her daughter's antics, marveling at how much she had grown in just a few months. Gracie's hair had become long and thick, her frame lanky but full of energy. Yet, it was her bright ocean-blue eyes that remained a constant, always curious and full of wonder.
