They gathered in the dimly lit living room of the compound, the flickering holographs casting fleeting images of everyone they had lost. Indigo sat with her head bowed on the table, close to Tony, afraid to move lest he too vanish into the abyss.
"He did exactly what he said he was gonna do. Thanos wiped out fifty percent, of all living creatures." Nat's voice broke the heavy silence.
"Where is he now? Where?" Tony's voice quivered with a mix of desperation and rage.
Indigo lifted her head, her gaze pleading with Steve for answers.
"We don't know. He opened a portal and walked through," Steve explained solemnly.
Indigo squirmed in her seat, discomfort coursing through her. All she wanted was to retreat to her bed and let the tears flow.
"What's going on with him?" Tony's voice carried concern.
Following his gaze, Indigo realized Tony was referring to Thor. Since the snap, Thor hadn't uttered a word to anyone. Indigo understood why; the weight of their losses hung heavy on them all.
"Oh, he's pissed. He thinks he failed. Which of course he did, but you know there's a lot of that's going around, ain't there?" Rocket's gruff voice echoed in the room.
Indigo couldn't shake off the surreal feeling of conversing with a talking raccoon
"Honestly, until this exact second, I thought you were a Build-A-Bear." Tony quipped, drawing a soft chuckle from Indigo. She had missed Tony's humor.
"Maybe I am," Rocket replied with a shrug, his eyes glinting with a hint of mischief.
"We've been hunting Thanos for three weeks now. Deep Space scans, and satellites, and we got nothing. Tony, you fought him." Steve informed them solemnly.
Indigo felt tears welling up again. She was exhausted from crying, worn down by the relentless pain of Thanos' actions.
"Who told you that?" Tony retorted sharply. "I didn't fight him. No, he wiped my face with a planet while the Bleecker Street Magician gave away the store. That's what happened. There was no fight."
Indigo clenched her head, trying to alleviate the pounding in her temples.
"Did he give you any clues, any coordinates, anything?" Steve pressed, his tone urgent.
"Pfft! I saw this coming a few years back. I had a vision. I didn't wanna believe it. Thought I was dreaming." Tony scoffed sarcastically.
"Tony, I'm gonna need you to focus." Steve insisted, rising to his feet.
Indigo could feel the shift in Tony's demeanor. "And I needed you. As in past tense. That trumps what you need. It's too late buddy. Sorry. You know what I need?" Tony stood up unsteadily, his voice tinged with frustration.
