One Months Later...
"I know you don't celebrate Christmas, but I brought you a present!" Indigo exclaimed, handing Shuri a gift wrapped in colorful Christmas tree-patterned paper.
She had picked it up during their visit to London a few months ago and had been saving it for this occasion. Indigo was excited to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Bucky—it marked their first holiday season as a married couple.
"You didn't have to get me anything, Indie," Shuri remarked, eyeing the gift with playful suspicion.
Indigo rolled her eyes good-naturedly, knowing Shuri's tendency to be skeptical. "Just open it, nerd," she teased, nudging the gift closer to Shuri with a grin.
With a chuckle, Shuri began unwrapping the package, revealing a sleek, silver bracelet adorned with intricate designs. The metal seemed to shimmer under the lab lights.
Shuri's eyes widened in surprise as she inspected the bracelet. "Indie, this is stunning," she exclaimed, turning it over to examine the craftsmanship.
Indigo beamed with satisfaction. "I found it in a little shop near Trafalgar Square," she explained. "It reminded me of you."
Shuri nodded appreciatively, slipping the bracelet onto her wrist. "Thank you," she said genuinely, her voice touched by Indigo's thoughtfulness. "It's perfect."
The two friends shared a warm smile. "Merry Christmas, Shuri," Indigo said warmly.
"Merry Christmas, Indie," Shuri replied, her smile widening as she admired the bracelet on her wrist, a tangible reminder of friendship and holiday spirit. "Okay, now get out of here before Barnes comes breaking down my lab door."
Indigo bid farewell to Shuri with a laugh, waving as she left the bustling palace behind. Stepping out into the cool evening air, she found Bucky waiting for her just outside.
Her smile widened as she approached him, reaching out to take his hand. Together, they began the leisurely walk back to their cozy cottage. Indigo walked close to Bucky, her hand comfortably intertwined with his, enjoying the quiet serenity of the Wakandan night.
As they strolled along, Indigo glanced up at Bucky, noticing the way his eyes flickered with the soft light. She leaned closer to him, feeling the warmth of his presence beside her. The air was crisp and carried a hint of the surrounding forest's scent, mixing with the faint sound of wildlife in the distance.
Indigo gazed ahead to see their cottage coming into view, the twinkling lights and festive wreath on the door a testament to her efforts. Holidays had always carried a bittersweet edge for her, a reminder of the family she never had. But now, with Bucky by her side as her husband, she felt a renewed sense of warmth and purpose. She wanted this Christmas to be perfect, a celebration of their love and their new life together.
