The Talk

A few minutes later the three of them are on the beach. Megan breaks from the adults and begins playing in the sand further up the beach while Kara and Lena take pause to look out at the ocean. "So were you on the phone with Sam that night I brought Ruby back?" Lena asked. "Yes. That was me. I heard everything you said." Kara replied. They remain silent for a few minutes not sure of what to say to one another. "Mommy! Mommy! Ook!" Megan squealed as she ran over to Kara who quickly scooped her up. "What is it love?" Kara asked. "Oats!" Megan said. "Goats? Oh look! There they are!" Kara replied with a smile. "There's goats on the island? Are they yours?" Lena asked. "Oh no! They're wild goats actually. We don't have pets." Kara replied.

"Dow pese..." Megan asked. "Ok just stay on the beach ok." Kara replied. "Yesh mommy!" Megan said. "I know what you're gonna ask. You're gonna ask if I have any of the same feelings for you too." Kara said. "Do you?" Lena asked softly. Kara watches her daughter playing with the sand for a moment before responding. "I do have feeling's for you. I tried hard after our fight to loose them...but I couldn't. After Megan was born I had a few opportunities to go out on dates and such but I didn't. I just stopped trying out meet anyone who I would consider dating. I put all my time into building my photography website and Megan." Kara replied.

"Do you ever think of moving back?" Lena asked. "I am considering it." Kara replied. "Oh that's good..." Lena replied. "Yes, I plan on buying a regular house with a large yard so Megan can finally have a pet." Kara said. "Would you go back to Cat Co...and supergirl duties?" Lena asked. "No. I'd continue being the anonymous photographer KD. I'd go around taking pictures of different things and places like I do now and keep Megan out of the public eye." Kara replied. "So you wouldn't date?" Lena asked. "I didn't say that. If a certain someone asked me out...I'd consider it...however it wouldn't just be me that they'd bed dating. They'd have to understand that Megan comes first." Kara replied before she walked off to go play in the sand with Megan.

Lena isn't shocked about this. No instead she's more intrigued to get to know Megan all while wining over the young girls heart along with her mommy's heart. "Mommy me hungy..." Megan says as Kara crouches down beside her. "Your hungry? Would you like to go home and eat or into town?" Kara asked. "Eena come?" Megan asked. "Do you want Lena to come with us?" Kara asked. "Yesh." Megan replied. "Ok love let's go get her." Kara replied as she picked Megan up and walked back to Lena. "Lee! Would you like to join us on a walk into town to have lunch?" Kara asked. "Uh....sure." Lena replied with a smile. "Ok let's go get some shoes on." Kara says looking at Megan.

The walk back to the house is short and it gives Lena time to look around the outside of it. She quickly spots the garden area where she sees a large selection of vegetables and fruit trees growing. "You're quite the gardener..." Lena said. "Yea, it comes in handy especially since Megan loves her fruits and vegetables." Kara replied. "That's good...all kids need those stuff in their diet." Lena replied unsure of what to say. Once they were back inside Megan headed off to her room leaving her mom and Lena alone. "Whats on your mind Lena?" Kara asked looking at the dark haired woman.

"When...when you get back to National City..." Lena begins. "When I get back to Nation City what?" Kara asks. "When you get back permanently...would you um...maybe want to...uhm...go out...with me..." Lena whispers. Kara takes a moment to look at the other woman for a moment taking her words in for consideration before she replies.  "Why don't we start that now and you can start getting to know Megan by helping her put some shoes on." Kara replied. Megan came out holding her shoes in her hand as she walked over to Kara. "Mommy!" Megan said. "Is it ok if Lena helps you? Mommy's gotta go grab her bags ok." Kara replied. Megan looked at Lena then back to Kara before nodding her head.

"Eeena? You hep me pese?" Megan asked as she went and sat on the couch. "Of course sweetheart." Lena replied as she sat down beside her grabbing the tiny shoes in her hands. Megan slides over closer to Lena and moves herself into the dark haired woman's lap. At first it freaked Lena out a bit when the young child seated herself on her lap but she quickly relaxed and put on Megan's shoes. Lena expects Megan to move off her lap as soon as her shoes are on but instead the toddler leans herself back against Lena's chest and reaches out to take Lena's hands in her own. "Eeena tan you." Megan said as she pressed a kiss to Lena's hand. "You're welcome sweetheart." Lena replied. Lena could feel her heart fill up with joy as she continued to sit with Megan on her lap.

A few minutes later Kara re emerged from gettin her bags to see Megan sitting on Lena's lap with Lena's arms wrapped around her. "Are you two ready to go?" Kara asked looking at them. "Yes! We're all set!" Lena replied as she stood up holding Megan in her arms. Kara smiles at the sight before her as they head to the door, Kara half expects Megan to want her to take her however she remains in Lena's arms as they leave the house. "You're not locking it?" Lena asked. "No. I never do. There's no need to." Kara replied.

They headed back down the hill and into town Kara showing Lena the short path that gets them down quickly. "I wish I knew about this yesterday." Lena grumbled. "It's not known by everyone. It took me a while to find it." Kara added. "So where to first?" Lena asked. "There's only one restaurant in town..." Kara said. "Ok." Lena replied as they walked into town Megan still in her arms.
