"Eena wha yu do?" Megan asked as she sat by Lena on the sofa. "I'm doing some work for my company." Lena replied. "Wha dat?" Megan asked. "My company makes technology for doctors to help people feel better." Lena replied. "Why?" Megan asked. It was pretty clear to Kara who was silently observing this interaction between her daughter and Lena that Lena was not used to being around such an inquisitive toddler. "Cause that what I pay them to do." Lena said. "Why?" Megan asked. "Cause I'm their boss." Lena replied. "Megan..why don't we go for walk and take some pictures so Lena can do her work." Kara suggested. "No mommy! I wana sta wit eena." Megan groaned. "No! Lena needs to finish her work so we're gonna go for a walk. Now let's go get some shoes on." Kara said. Megan slid off the sofa and walked over to Kara. Lena wanted to say that the two year old wasn't bothering her but she held her tongue.
Kara picked up Megan and headed to the bench where the shoes were and slid on her sandals. "We'll be back later..." Kara said as she and Megan walked out of the house. Lena watched them leave without saying a word. "I really need to have another talk with her." Lena said to herself as she turned her attention back to her laptop. Kara took Megan down to the beach and walked around takin pictures as Megan made sandcastles.
A couple hours went by and Lena was done with her work. She put her laptop away before slipping on her sandals and walking down to the beach to find Kara and Megan. Lena was so preoccupied with watching where she walked she didn't notice Kara taking her picture as she approached the mother daughter duo. Megan was busy making herself another sandcastle as Lena approached her. Kara stood back near an overhanging tree and watched the dark haired woman kneel down to watch Megan make her sandcastle. Kara snapped multiple pictures of them before she revealed herself and walked over to join them.
"MOMMY!" Megan squealed as she saw Kara approaching them. Megan hopped up and ran towards the blonde leaping into her arms. Kara swung Megan around causing her to squeal with joy. The sight brought a smile to Lena's face. "Did you get all your stuff done Lee?" Kara asked. "Oh...yea..." Lena replied. "Good..." Kara replied. "Mommy...I hungy..." Megan said. "You are! Oh no! How are we gonna fix that problem? Shall we go check our crab traps?" Kara asked. "Yesh! Eeena com too?" Megan asked. "If she wants to." Kara replied.
"Kara? When did you become such an outdoorsy person?" Lena asked. "Oh...uh...I always have been...but I got more into it after having Megan..I learned how to catch crabs and grow stuff in the garden." Kara replied. Lena couldn't believe it...she had missed so much in the past two years...she never known that Kara was an outdoorsy person in all their years of friendship. Had she really been so oblivious to her friend? Had she just seen only what she wanted to?
