Megan's Birthday (Part One)

It's now the next day after the talk at the lake. Today is Megan's birthday and currently Lena and Kara are decorating Eliza's house while Eliza is out having a 'special grandma/granddaughter birthday breakfast'. "I love these decorations! Did you order a cake too?" Lena asked. "Alex, Kelly and Esme are bringing it with them." Kara replied. "And Sam and Ruby are coming too?" Lena asked. "Yes, why? Nervous that Alex may try to murder you?" Kara asked teasingly. "Yes! Especially when we tell her that we're a couple..." Lena replied. "Relax Lee...it'll be ok." Kara said shrugging it off.

They continued decorating and talking about how they'd tell Alex along with everyone else. "What time does everyone..." "We're here!" Alex called out as she walked inside. "Aunt Kara!" Esme yelled out as she ran over to the blonde and jumping into her arms. "Hey theres my favorite niece! How are you sweetheart?" Kara asked. "I'm good! I'm ready to see grandma and Megan!" Esme replied with a toothy smile. "Well they should be home soon. So why don't you go put your bag in your room and go watch some cartoons while we finish setting up." Kara suggested. Esme gave a pout. "Carry me auntie?" Esme asked still pouting. "Of course sweetheart!" Kara replied as she walked out of the living room with Esme in her arms.

Once she was gone Alex looked at Lena before she spoke. "So? How's everything going with you, Kara and Megan?" Alex asked. Lena looked at her for a moment before responding. "They're going good...I'm sure Kara's told you this already but the other day I watched Megan while Kara and Eliza went shopping." Lena replied. "Yes, I heard. I also heard about the talk by the lake too. Have anything to say about that?" Alex asked arching an eyebrow at Lena. Before Lena can respond Kara rejoins them. "Don't give Lena a hard time Alex. We both agreed to give this a go, and Megan loves Lena so to me that's all that matters." Kara replied.

Alex looked between Lena and Kara before smiling at them. "Congratulations! I'm happy for you. It's about time you two got together." Alex replied. A few minutes later Eliza, Megan, Ruby and Sam appeared in the house. Ruby ran over and hugged Kara tight before taking Megan and going to the living room to join Esme. "She really missed you Kara." Sam said as she too hugged Kara. "I missed her too. I missed everyone here!" Kara replied. "I've placed the order for the pizzas while we're in town. They'll be here at noon." Eliza said. "Thank you." Kara replied.

A few minutes later Ruby returned to the kitchen where all the adults were sitting. She walked over to Kara and took a seat on her lap. "What is it Rubes?" Kara asked. "Where am I gonna be sleeping Aunt Kara?" Ruby asked. "You'll be in the room with Esme and Megan." Kara replied. "Where are you gonna be?" Ruby asked. "I've got myself set up in the attic." Kara replied.

Lena looked at her but didn't say anything. "Why?" Ruby asked. "Cause your mom is gonna be in the room with Lena, and Alex and Kelly will be in the study. And because I like the attic, I've hung up some fairy lights and everything so it looks neat." Kara replied. "Can I sleep up there with you?" Ruby asked. "I thought you'd want to sleep in the same room as Megan and Esme. But you can if you want to. We can set up the projector and watch some movies." Kara replied. "Yasss! Can we have popcorn too and sodas?" Ruby asked. Kara nodded with a smile. "Yasss!" Ruby exclaimed happily as she hugged Kara around the neck.

"Go on Ruby, go play with your cousins the party will start in a few hours." Kara said. Ruby nodded and slid off the blondes lap walking back to the living room once again. "You know she would be completely fine with the little kids." Sam said. "I know...but it'll be ok this way too. Besides it's been too long since Ruby and I had a movie night." Kara replied. "You know that you'll probably end up with all the kids up there by the time bedtime rolls around." Alex said. "That's ok too. I put in a second mattress up stairs." Kara added.

Lena had so many questions hearing this conversation and seeing how close Ruby and Sam have grown close to Kara. However before she could ask any of them the party was beginning. "Ok where is my birthday girl?" Kara asked as she walked into the living room. "Mommy!" Megan squealed as she ran over to her. "Hers she is! Here's my birthday girl! Are you ready for pizza?" Kara asked. "Yesh mommy!" Megan said. "Ok! Let's go have some!" Kara replied as they headed to the kitchen again.

On the counter sits twelve boxes of pizza, drinks, plates and napkins. "Ok sweetie...what would you like?" Kara asked. "Peeppy onni!" Megan replied. "Pepperoni it is!" Kara says as she put a slice of the pizza on the plate before putting Megan in her high chair and cutting the pizza into bite sized pieces. "Chew it up good ok. Mommy will be right back." Kara said. Megan nodded as she began munching on her pizza.

The table was packed with everyone a few minutes later everyone having plate fulls of pizza and soda's in their cups. Megan has juice in her sippy cup. "Mommy mor pese..." Megan says looking over at Kara. "Here you go sweetheart." Kara says as she takes a slice off her plate and rips it up into bite sized pieces. "Dank uuuu!" Megan said with a smile. "You're welcome sweetheart!" Kara replied.

After everyone had their fill of pizza it was time for cake and ice cream to be dished up. Kara lit the 'three' candle on it and put it in front of Megan. "Everyone ready?" Kara asked. "Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Megan! Happy Birthday to you!" Everyone choruses. "Blow out the candles!" Kara cooed. By the time the cake was cut Megan had covered her face in it. "Ok! Come on you little munchkin, let's get you cleaned up so we can open your presents!" Kara said with a smile.

It was now that Lena realized she didn't have a gift for Megan. "I'll be right back..." Lena said as she looked at everyone. "Uh...ok...where are you going?" Alex asked. "I've got to get something for Megan..." Lena replied. "No you don't. Megan won't care. She'll be getting a lot of stuff from everyone else. Sit back down, and relax." Alex said. Letting out a huff Lena sat down on the sofa beside Alex just as Kara and Megan returned. "Ok munchkin come sit with me and we'll open your gifts." Kara said.

One by one Megan opened her gifts as Eliza recorded it and Kelly snapped pictures. "Oooooo mommy!" Megan cooed. "Did you have fun bug?" Kara asked. "Yesh dan you!" Megan replied as she hugged Kara tight. "Go thank everyone else now bug." Kara said. The now three year old wandered to Alex first and hugged her before working her way around the room before returning to Kara's lap.
