The Lake

Kara and Lena returned downstairs and walked into the kitchen to see Eliza had reheated the potstickers and the rest of the food. Megan was helping herself to some of Kara's potstickers. The sight made Lena laugh out loud. "Mommy..." Megan cooed as she chomped on the potsticker. "Megan? Are you eating mommy's food?" Kara asked. "Noooo mommy!" Megan replied laughing. "It's ok sweetheart, you can eat them too." Kara said as she picked her up from the chair before sitting back down with Megan on her lap. "Want some Lena? We got enough for everyone." Eliza offered. "Oh no thank you. I'm alright." Lena replied.

Megan wasn't satisfied with Lena's answer. So she took one of Kara's potstickers, and reached over to Lena's hand and sat it down. "Der Eeena!" Megan said with a smile on her face. She was proud of what she did. "Thank you sweetheart!" Lena replied as she ate the potsticker. Megan sat back down on Kara's lap this time with her head against Kara's chest. "You sleepy bug?" Kara asked. "Yesh mommy." Megan replied with a yawn. "Ok come on let's go upstairs and we'll use the potty and you can have a nap." Kara replied as she slid her chair back and stood up still holding onto Megan. "Kara...your food..." Eliza grumbled. "I'll take it up to her." Lena said as she quickly picked up the take away box and followed Kara and Megan.

"Ok sweetheart lets us the potty now." Kara said as she sat on the floor of the bathroom. That's where Lena found her a few minutes later. "Kara...I've got your food." Lena said as she walked into the bathroom and joined the blonde on the floor. "Thanks Lee." Kara replied as she warmed them up again with her laser eyes. Lena was shocked at how much control over these powers.

"You ok Lee?" Kara asked as she put potstickers in her mouth. "Uh...yeah...that's cool." Lena replied. "Oh...laser vision?" Kara asked. "Yea...I mean I've seen it before but..not up close...that was cool!" Lena exclaimed happily. "Thanks...it comes in handy when I want to reheat something and don't want to use the microwave to do it." Kara replied. "Mommy! Dun!" Megan exclaimed. "Ok love bug! Let me get you cleaned up and I'll lay you down for a nap." Kara replied.

One Megan was cleaned up and she had put a new sticker in her book Kara took her into her old room, and laid her down on her old bed. She then knelt down on the floor and began singing a soft song to her. Lena stood in the doorway and watched the interaction between mother and daughter. The sight made her heart ache. She wanted to be apart of this little family so bad. She was willing to help Kara out doing whatever she asked her to if it meant one day she could be apart of all this.

When Kara finished Megan was already asleep. Standing up she walked over to Lena who was in the doorway watching them. "You ok Lee?" Kara asked softly. "Hmm? Oh uh..yea.." Lena replied. "Come on...let's go for a walk." Kara said as she took Lena's hand and walked back downstairs. "Eliza...Lena and I are gonna go for a walk to the lake...Megan's sleeping already so she should be ok." Kara called out. "Ok!" Eliza replied.

"Come on, the lakes this way." Kara said as they began walking down a dirt path. "Are you're gonna kill me then put my body in the lake?" Lena asked half sarcastically. "No...besides a lakes too easy to find a body in....I'd fly and throw you into the sun...no DNA that way." Kara replied with a smirk. "Kara! That's not funny!" Lena gasped. "Relax Lee, I'd never dream of killing you. No matter how mad I got at you." Kara replied. "Ok..so what did you want to talk about?" Lena asked hesitantly.

Kara reminded silent as they walked the rest of the way to the lake, before taking a seat on some rocks. "Lena...I know we talked about this before in Greece...but we're here now...and I need to tell you that I'm ready to start this relationship with you. I've given you so many opportunities to leave but you stayed. And today you volunteered to spend time with Megan even though you didn't have to. That's a big deal for me. I hardly ever leave her with anyone who isn't family. So if you still want this...then let's do it..lets start building our relationship again." Kare turned and looked out over the water as she finished speaking not wanting to see Lena walk away again.

Lena however didn't walk away. Instead she reached out her hand and moved Kara's head so blue eyes met green. "I want that too! Kara Danvers...will you be my girlfriend, and go out on a date tomorrow night with me...permitting Eliza is ok watching Megan?" Lena asked. Kare didn't' respond with words. Instead she let her eyes flick between Lena's eyes and her lips before she leaned in to one another slowly. The kiss was a passionate filled one even if it lasted only a few seconds. "So...um...what now?" Lena asked. "Now we can either stay here and skip stones or we can go back to the house...and we can tell Eliza that we're going to give dating a go." Kara suggested.

"Uh...well...I suppose we should tell her sooner rather than later...so I can receive my shovel talk...or whatever she has in store for me...however I'm more nervous about what your sister will say..." Lena replied. "You let me handle Alex...and we'll tell Eliza together." Kara replied. "Yea that sounds like a good idea..." Lena replied as they stood up and began walking back to Eliza's house holding each other's hands.

Front her porch Eliza stood with Megan in her arms now awake from her nap. "Wer mommy an eena?" Megan asked. "They're at the lake talking." Eliza replied. "Why?" Megan asked. "Cause I think your mommy wants to tell Lena that she wants to date her." Eliza replied. "Wat dat?" Megan asked. "It's where two people...in this case your mommy and Lena get dressed up and go out at night together and eat food together." Eliza replied. "Me go?" Megan asked. "No darling...you'll stay with gammy that night. We'll watch Disney movies and eat ice cream." Eliza replied.
