Much Needed Sister Time

The next day Alex and Kara decided to take a day for themselves. They left the house after breakfast leaving the kids with Lena, Kelly and Eliza. "We needed this!" Alex said as they sat in the only nail salon in Midvale. "Oh I know! I've missed our sister nights." Kara replied. "So you're really staying huh?" Alex asked. "Yes. I'm really staying." Kara replied. "Good! I'm glad! We can do more sister nights." Alex said. "Yea!" Kara replied. "So what do you wanna do after this?" Alex asked. "Let's go take some photographs. I need to upload some to the website." Kara replied. "Alright, that sounds good. We can grab the kids and our partners and go on a hike." Alex said. "Sounds good to me! I'm sure mom would like a break from all of us." Kara replied. "Yea most definitely." Alex replied.

After getting their nails done Kara and Alex stopped to grab everyone some sandwiches and drinks for their impromptu hike. "Ok I think we have everything! Let's go grab everyone and get going." Kara said. A few minutes later they returned to the house. Kara got Megan ready to go, while Alex and Kelly got Esme ready to go. "So where are you going?" Eliza asked. "Just to the clearing out behind the house." Kara replied. "That's a long hike....are you sure everyone will be able to handle it?" Eliza asked. "Well I'll be carrying Megan and Alex will have the food in her bag. And I'm sure if Esme gets tired I can carry her too. And everyone else can probably manage for themselves." Kara replied. Eliza nodded. "Kar! Here ya go." Alex said as she handed Kara her camera.

"Thanks Al. Is everyone ready?" Kara asked. Everyone nodded. "Ok come here angel! You're gonna piggy back on mommy." Kara said. "O tay mommy!" Megan replied. "Sister day continues! With a lovely hike into the woods to take pictures!" Alex exclaimed happily as they all headed out the door. "Mommy wer we go?" Megan asked. "To a nice clearing where you and Esme can play." Kara replied. "O tay!" Megan replied.

Kara paused part way on the trail to hang back and snap some pictures of everyone walking down the trail. "Mommy..." Megan whispered. "What darling?" Kara asked. "Momma pety!" Megan replied. "Yes she is really pretty." Kara replied as she continued walking after them. Half way to the clearing everyone took pause to sip some water before continuing. "You ok Lee?" Kara asked. "Yea...just not used to doing this...that's all." Lena replied. "Come on..I'll help you the rest of the way." Kara replied as she took Lena's hand in her own.

A little while later they arrived at the clearing and Kara let Megan down so she and Esme could play. Alex sat the blanket down before she and Kelly began chasing the kids. Kara brought her camera up to her face and began snapping pictures of the scenery. Lena looked around slowly before letting her eyes land on Kara who was kneeling down to snap pictures of the kids playing.

Kara walked around taking pictures of different things before she turned to see Lena playing with Megan. She was swinging Megan around in the air and tickling her causing the toddler to erupt in laughter. Kara snapped pictures of them together before resuming taking pictures of everything around her. "Mommmy! I hungy!" Megan squealed as she came running towards Kara at full speed while Lena continued to slowly chase her. "Ok! Ok! Let's go feed my wild beast!" Kara replied as she walked over to the blanket and sat down with Megan in her lap. "Ok! Mommy got you a turkey sandwich and apple slices and grape juice!" Kara said. "Yay!" Megan squealed. Kara opened the sandwich and handed Megan half letting her eat it on her lap.

"Auntie K, can we take pictures after lunch?" Esme asked. "Of course we can!" Kara replied as she grabbed her own sandwiches and drinks. Lena went to sit next to Kara on the opposite side since Esme sat on the blondes right side. "Did you get some good pictures?" Lena asked. "Yea...I'll check them later on my laptop before posting to my website. But I think they came out good." Kara replied. Lena nodded. "Do we get first dibs on them?" Kelly asked. Kara chuckled to herself. "Yes! You know you guys get first dibs on what photos you want copies of." Kara replied. Lena cocked an eyebrow at Kara. "Whenever I take photos of a new place or something I always email copies to Sam, Kelly and Eliza so they can get their picks first." Kara explained. "Yea..it's cheaper that way than me forking over three hundred dollars for something my sister took a picture of." Alex said.

"Maybe after lunch I can set my tripod up and get a few group photos or something." Kara suggested. "What about grandma? We need her in it too!" Esme replied. "Ok! We can wait till we go back then ok. We'll take one in the back yard." Kara said. "Ok!" Esme replied. After lunch and some more running around everyone began heading down the trail again.
