Y/N—
Oh gosh. What the heck was I thinking? I was running fast, hoping to escape before Kai saw my blushing face.
Y/N! You're an idiot! I mentally cursed at myself a million times. What the hell was I about to say? I like you? I have a crush on you? There was no way. No way no way no way I could say that to him, it would ruin everything. I couldn't believe those words almost escaped my mouth, I wanted to punch myself in the face.
I bolted to the arcade, stopping at the entrance to catch my breath, panting heavily. A minute later Kai came running around the corner, stopping in front of me, resting his hands on his thighs as he did the same. I was just relieved that there was now an excuse to explain the red on my cheeks.
"Geez, Y/N. Why are you so fast..." Kai grumbled, sighing.
I felt dizzy, blinking away stars before looking up at him. "I win." I smirked.
He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Shall we?" He asked, opening the door.
I nodded, stepping inside. "Thanks."
Our time at the arcade went by fast, and I wish Kai didn't have practice so that we could spend as much time as we could there together. We left with about three plushies each, feeling satisfied with our accomplishments today.
Coming into the arcade my goal was to win him one as a gift, and I guess he was thinking the same thing, because while we were about to leave we both revealed the plushie we wanted to give to the other as a gift. The one Kai gave me was a Rilakkuma sleeping on its side, wearing cute pajamas, and the one I gave to him was Molang with a pink bow on it. I was really happy, and he looked happy too. We walked back to the dorms with high spirits, chatting excitedly about the games and bantering about who was better at playing.
"I'm surprised we didn't get kicked out. You yell too much when you get excited or upset!" Kai laughed, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I just hate losing and you weren't going easy on me!" I huffed, furrowing my eyebrows angrily.
"Ah, sorry, I'll make sure only you win next time~" Kai teased back, and I rolled my eyes at him.
"There better be a next time. I want to go back." I said. Kai smiled and nodded excitedly.
"Me too."
I was really disappointed when we quickly reached the dorms and it was time to say bye. I couldn't wait for the next time we could do something fun like this together.
"Well, I'll see you later then." I said to him, feeling suddenly awkward now that it was time to leave. "Good luck with practice. And have a good day."
Kai smiled softly and nodded, holding his plushies tightly against him. "You too, Y/N...thanks for coming with me today. I had a lot of fun."
"Me too!" I cheered, "thank you for inviting me. Promise me we'll do it again sometime, yeah?"
His eyes sparkled, and he nodded eagerly. "Promise."
I smiled, lightly pushing his shoulder. "I don't want to make you late. Bye bye." I said, my hand lingering there.
Kai nodded, and suddenly reached up, squeezing my hand that was on his shoulder. His hand was slightly clammy, but it was a warm and comforting gesture. My heart fluttered as this was the first time he had initiated any sort of skin-ship with me. I was the one usually accidentally grabbing or nudging him without realizing, but this action was definitely purposeful. It was disappointing that his hand was gone in an instant, as we parted ways and he got off at his floor.
