Y/N—
It was about 3 AM in the morning, so no restaurants were open. Kai and I decided to go to a convenience store to grab some food instead—we opted for the one closest to Han River so that we could sit outside and eat. We paid and carried away our piping hot bowls of ramen and bag of goodies to the bench overlooking the water and the city.
I sat crossed legged and dug in, Kai doing the same. It was so quiet and peaceful out, only the sounds of us slurping our noodles and the occasional grasshopper heard in the night. When my raging hunger was somewhat satiated, I put my bowl down and stretched, letting out a content sigh.
"Seoul at 3 AM in the morning is just the best." I sighed, admiring our city which was even now, glowing with lights.
"The city that never sleeps." Kai added, doing the same. "Just like us." He snickered, glancing at me.
"Yup." I said, scoffing. "Even if we pulled an all-nighter last night I don't feel too tired." I shrugged.
"Honestly, me too. I could go for a swim right now." Kai said jokingly.
"Then do it. I dare you." I snickered, waving to the water.
"I won't swim but I'll go into the water." Kai said, turning to me with an excited look. "But only if you come with me."
"Hell no. It looks cold." I shuddered, shaking my head.
"Not even for just a second?" Kai said, turning to me with a pleading expression. "You know, things like ice baths have great health benefits."
"I'm not taking a bath in Han River." I deadpanned.
"Come onnnnnn. Just our feet. It'll be fun!" Kai snickered, grabbing my arm and dragging me to the water. I groaned in protest but followed along with him, the two of us rolling up our pants and kicking off our shoes, carelessly leaving them in the grass.
"This isn't fair. You have a high pain tolerance." I whined, already feeling cold as I clung onto Kai for extra warmth. I stretched out my foot and dipped just a toe in the water, squealing at how cold it was.
I was about to run away when Kai wrapped both his arms around my waist, lifting me up with ease and dragging me into the water with him. I was dangling in his arms like a rag doll, shrieking and kicking my feet in the air. I cursed at him as he gently lowered me back into the river, all while laughing obnoxiously and loudly like a maniac.
The ice cold water was up to my knees and Kai's shins and the two of us were shrieking while jumping around, trying to get used to the cold. I was scared of getting sick, but now that I was here it was pretty fun and exciting, to be in the water by ourselves. I reached down and touched the cold water with my hands, liking the way it felt.
"See? It's not that cold." Kai snickered.
"Are you sure?" I asked, using my hand and splashing water at him. Kai yelped and jumped back, shielding himself from my attack. "How 'bout now? Is it still not cold?" I laughed evilly, continuing to splash him.
"Stop it!" Kai whined, running away. I chased after him, splashing at him ruthlessly. Kai eventually retaliated, the two of us screaming and splashing each other like toddlers in the water for the first time.
"Truce! Truce!" I yelled when the two of us were splashing each other to the point where we were starting to get wet. Kai stopped his attacks, raising his palms up.
