Y/N—

Beomgyu and I worked on the song alone for a while as Kai finished up his food. I was determined to make this song be released—meaning that Beomgyu was going to have to step it up and show his best work as well. It was relieving to see that he was serious about this, something I didn't see from the goof very often.

"Are you and Kai dating?"

The question came out of nowhere, and threw me off guard because this entire time we'd been on task, only focusing on the song. I figured Beomgyu was getting restless to talk about something else.

"Why are you asking that?" I asked him, glaring.

He shrugged nonchalantly. "I'm curious."

"No, we're just friends." I sighed heavily, shaking my head. "And no, I don't like him. And also, please mind your own business."

"Hm." Beomgyu nodded with a satisfied smile. "Anyways. What'd you do today?"

I sighed again and stopped strumming on the guitar. "Can we stay on task?"

He pouted with annoyance, rocking back and forth and leaning closer to me. "Can't we just take a short break and chat? I'm getting restless."

"Then go run around the building and come back."

At that, Beomgyu laughed, pretending to stand. "I will if you come with me."

"No."

"Lame." He sighed, sitting back down. "By the way, is there a reason you chose me for this song?"

I pursed my lips together, thinking. "It suits you. The dark romance vibe. Kai and I agreed that your voice, since it's the deepest, would be great. Also, you don't have enough lines in TXT's songs despite being popular, so I think this song will have a high chance of succeeding." I explained to Beomgyu, his eyes focused on mine.

"I see..." Beomgyu nodded, smiling softly. "Thanks again, Y/N. I'll try my best not to disappoint. And honestly, I am quite romantic, so you chose well." He boasted.

I nodded. "Yup. I'm really happy to be working on this with you guys, too."

His eyes lit up, and he grinned at me. "I'm glad. You don't seem as exhausted or moody tonight." Beomgyu said, shifting closer to me. A habit of his, getting into other's personal space.

I shrugged, "yeah, because I'm having fun."

"Have you always liked making music, Y/N?" He asked me.

I sighed, realizing he was fully distracted from practicing now and probably wouldn't let up unless I entertained him a bit more. "I mean, yeah. I liked playing piano when I was a kid, and I did some DJ-ing when I was in middle school. That's how I kind knew I liked it."

Beomgyu nodded, listening carefully. "DJ-ing? I wouldn't expect that." He chuckled.

"I was pretty good at it. I'd do it at our school dances and stuff."

At that, he laughed out loud. "That's funny. So if you could choose, would you rather make music or perform, Y/N?"

I pursed my lips together, pretending to consider it. Of course I'd rather make music, I'd choose it 50 times over. "Make music."

"You don't like performing?" He asked me.

I shrugged, "it's fine. I'd just rather make music if I had to choose."
